Brandon Routh was utter garbage as Superman. Seriously! Rory McIlroy looks more promising as an actor

I disagree. Brandon Routh did a very good Superman chanelling Christopher Reeve which was exactly what the director Bryan Singer wanted. The movie was lame, but that wasn't Routh's fault.

I just hope Lex Luthor is nowhere to be seen in this film. Superman has more villains than Luthor and General Zod, but Hollywood thinks we don't know.

Agree with panchy. Routh was OK in the role but the movie sucked balls

Routh was a very good superman. The movie just sucked.

And if you watch the trailer, they do show a Lexcorp Building. In fact, i believe Lex is confirmed for this movie.

I wonder if that is Hans Zimmer's new Superman score. It sounds really good.

Checked IMDB's character credits and didn't see a Lex Luthor. There is a General Zod but no Ursala or Non. Also both Lana Lane and Loris Lane are in this one.

Routh was trying way too hard as Superman and Clarky. It was cringe-worthy stuff, IMO. Routh just seemed too stiff. Kevin Spacey was utter garbage as Lex Luthor too.

However, I agree that they need to introduce other enemies, rather than just Luthor and Zod.

Superman was a low point in spaceys career, other than that he's pretty solid. I blame the director. it was just a really bad movie.

Yeah, Spacey is a good actor don't get me wrong, it's just that he failed to impress me as Lex Luthor. Superman returns took too much dialogue from the original Superman film. It was cheesy. They should have been more creative. With this new Superman it looks like they've gone back to Superman's roots, but it looks so much better. I think Henry Cavill looks like a very good Superman. Not so sure how he'll be as Clark Kent but I think they're focusing more on the Superman character itself it seems.

I'm wondering if they're saving him for the ending in the lead up to the sequel. Two villians seems like a bit much.

Well probably. He doesnt have to be a main villain. He could be just a business man. Zod and Luther worked together in Superman 2.

:bears: seriously can't wait for this. Did any of you guys pick up the latest edition of Empire magazine? Special sections dedicated to Christopher Reeve and a look at this film and its characters. Was a great read!

I love The Avengers, but I gotta agree with you on that statement. I hope the film is as great as these trailers and that there is a little of humour since this looks so damn grim. I am hyped!

So i am not a superman expert or anything, but i was reading any interview with Nolan and Synder and they said there is a huge suprise in the movie hidden in the trailers. So i did some research and noticed that in the trailer there is this squid like spaceship. So i looked up squid/superman and noticed that Braniac's ship is a squid isnt it? Can someone clarify?

I really hope they explain how Clark Kent and Superman are so different because of a pair of glasses.

You're right Jimmy, but still I don't think it's credible. And it's not a matter of the films per se, it's about the comics. I think it's a huge flaw. I would eliminate the Clark Kent character altogether. It's hard to believe that a man can disguise himself with the cunning use of a set of glasses. At least Batman wears a mask.
