How do you see a matchup of Manny Pacquaio versus Diego Corrales at 130lbs and 135lbs.

I think the two weights are important, because a case could definately be made for either fighter winning in one weightclass and losing in another.

could go either way, but unless pacquiao fights a perfect fight w/o getting tagged, corrales wins via KO.

    50/50......Corrales always had difficulties w/ speedy guys..Mayweather/Casamayor...

I say Pacquiao score a few knockdown to win a decision......

but i can also see Pacquiao scoring a few knockdown but getting tag with some bombs late and being stop...

I don't even think Manny would have beaten JLC. I think Corrales would KO him with him with a straight right hand.

I'm not so sure about "Manny getting tagged once" and it's over. Sure Corrales was a huge puncher, but it's not as if Pacquiao has shown he can't take one either.

Corrales is to slow for Pacquiao in every possible area.I see the corner throwing in the towel for Corrales.

And lol at the people saying pacquiao gets ko'd...get the fuck out of here!!

Because we think a very huge, huge natural Superfeatherweight could beat him? It's all fine and dandy the Pacmania is going on but don't you all forget that Manny did shit all at 130 except beating featherweights.

Its comedy how underrated he is in Mythical Matchups.I just wait in anticipation for a Pacquiao vs thread just to see if he gets the majority vote...which he rarely does....You'll be burned on a cross if you pick Pacquiao over an old timer:lol:

I mean, Diego Corrales is made to order for manny. Susceptible to lefts, bad chin, no outside game, not overly physical.

Manny would win by KO 9.5 out of 10 times

I once said Chico, but the years have changed my opinion. Manny by TKO. Too fast for Chico, but I'd still give Chico a chance because of his dynamite punch. Plus Corrales' counter hook was very fast. But still, Manny by TKO.

Pacquaio would have dropped Corrales something like 5 times in the first 6 rounds..prompting a TKO stoppage...

Pacquiao would have beat the shit out of him. Corrales doesn't move his head, so he gets KOed. Bad.

    Simple as that.

Corrales would find Pacquiao more than Pacquiao would find him. That's why I think Manny would go down. He'd go down swinging, but he'd still go down.

Chico is one of my favorite fighters of all time, but..... just no. Are you saying that Corrales has faster hands than Manny? Are you saying Corrales has a better defense than Manny? On both accounts NO! Chico's only chance would be if Manny got careless and walked into something big. Its possible, but Manny is no fool. If he boxes Chico from the outside, and used angles, his speed would be entirely too much for Chico to handle.

Because of styles, I'd give a prime Castillo a better chance at beating Manny than I would Chico.

    Nope.

Not saying he wont win..he might (I'd pick Manny though) but he wouldn't "beat the hell out of" Pacquaio. No way. No how.

I have no doubt about it. Castillo would get in there and he's too big, strong and much more roughed, skilled on the inside and dirty for Manny. Making things worse, Castillo had an out of this world chin, no way he's cracking that and no way can he stay on the outside like Floyd did. Pac is competitive early but Jose Luis breaks him down and delivers a beating late.

How many times has Castillo been stopped before? For a guy with "an all world chin" he sure got drunk often.

Since Pacquiao has moved up to Featherweight and beyond, his chin appears to be concrete. He has faced pretty heavy punchers in Marquez, Morales and Barrera and wasn't close to being stopped or badly hurt. Castillo was a strong puncher but not a murderous one...and he's much slower than Pacquaio; both in hand and foot. I see no reason to assume that Castillo would have stopped Pacquiao. none whatsoever.

Early on, on cuts. Against Corrales who if anything hits quite harder than Pacquiao and bombed the hell out of Castillo for 10 rounds before getting to him and Hatton with a bodypunch. Castillo's beard was terrific. (And huge)

Marquez and the boys are not nearly as big and strong as Castillo was, you're talking Featherweights, I'm talking Lightweight. Castillo's best fighting inside (Pac's weakest skill) That with the size difference spells trouble for Manny, KO or not KO.

Not all cuts, brother. Soto knocked the fuck out of Castillo, Mercer v Morrison style. One punch.

When he was what, 19? That's like bringing Pacquiao's KO loss at Flyweight to prove how he would fare at 126-135. Enough with this shit. Castillo had a damn good chin and he would fuck the little Pacquiao at 135, I'm sure you know it brother Tam. :nono:

 If you did that, you'd be wrong. He got sparked by a single shot. What, did his chin get better as he got older did it? He got stopped twice more, legitimately after that.

A "damn good chin" is a world away from "an all world chin", now isn't it?:crafty:

Jose Luis Castillo is basura. The man feasted on small people and i dont mean to pull a Karl on this but he is legitimately a middleweight who somehow made 130/135.

Manny would embarass him, the difference in skill between Pac, and a glorified giant/clubfighter is absurd.
