I would give Cuevas a better shot than most, but I cannot honestly say I would favour him. He is only human (& Mexican), after all.
Cuevas was a wrecking ball at 147 and would have a good puncher's chance against Pacquiao. Nevertheless, the safe bet would be Pacquiao UD.. speed kills.
That would have been a terrible mismatch as Cuevas would wreck Manny, hard. He was far too big and tough for Manny, and he was a 15 round fighter. Cuevas was the most dominant champion in boxing for several years and was a killer.
What leads you to think Manny isn't a 15 round fighter? And which Manny's welterweight bouts suggest that he would be ran over by a guy as slow as Cuevas
If it's a mismatch in anyone's favour, it's Manny's. Who did Cuevas beat exactly that leads you to believe he'd beat one of the best fighters of all time?
No way. I have seen both fighters a lot and studied them throughout the years, and there is no doubt in my mind regarding this one here.
Cuevas Ko's Pacquiao late... Pacquiao has speed and power but he isn't some defensive genius/master he gets hit a whole lot...Margarito, Cotto, and I think even Clottey touched him up...
