I take nothing from PBF, but upon further review his victory blinded me and many on this forum. He beat a good fighter in Hatton but lets get real, Hatton is a decent pressure fighter @ 140 not @147. The first time Hatton tasted Welterweight he faced Collazo. A PR southpawl that didnt have much strenght? What happened? Hatton almost lost the fight and has hurt several times in the fight. PBF was clearly the bigger man and KHTFO. I'm a Hatton fan but he fought a stupid fight rushing in. He needed to fight with controlled aggression. Miguel Cotto is one of the strongest fighters @ 147. Thats the fight that needs to be made. If he can get passed Cotto, then he is #1 in my book. So to all you PBF fans I salute you with a big FUCK THAT! ENjoy the video bitches.

And let's not diminish the quality of the win either.

Mayweather knocked out an undefeated and highly ranked P4P fighter with relative ease.

Something tells me that Mayweather could KO King Kong in 2 rounds and you guys would log on claiming that Kong ate bad bananas before the fight.

Mayweather vs. Cotto is the fight that needs to be made............

Mayweather is already P4P #1 in the world...and this weekend he prove their is a big gap between him....and #2 guy.....so HEX is a little out of it from that angle....

:lol: THAT was a funny VIDEO......

MIGUEL COTTO and Mosley are the tougher test for Mayweather..than Hatton and been sayng that since Mayweather had his choose to picked fights vs...Mosley,Cotto,Hatton...

However COTTO will has the same height/reach disadvantage than Hatton did...Cotto reach is like 66-67"...while Mayweather is 71-72"....Cotto is 5'7 same as Hatton...but Cotto is alot more skilled..has a better jab..and doesn't look every damn punch...

You have no shame. You picked Hatton to win and said it was impossible for Floyd to knock him out...and now you have the audacity to come up with this!? </P>

Hatton is a GREAT Light-Welterweight but he is a B-Class Welter. The Collazo fight hinted as such, as Saturday confirmed it.

That doesn't detract from the quality and clinical nature of Floyd's win, but his beating Hatton at 147 does not make him any more or less likely to beat Cotto, Williams, Cintron, Paulie etc. It is against those guys where Mayweather will ultimately be judged at 147.

I sort of feel for Ricky- he stepped up to weight that he obviouslyu isn't comfortable at because each and every single big fight for him is at a higher weight, but he just can't do it at that level. Gotta be tough for him...

When did Cotto become #1? Floyd doesnt need to beat cotto to be #1 its the other way around. Money Mayweather has been clearly #1 for a few years now in my eyes.

Another Great win for mayweather on Saturday :bears:

    Hatton is a BUM!

That's what Floyd's own fans are saying. He should get zero credit for beating a bum.

I dont think Hatton is a bum, I just think he didnt belong @ 147. I also think he fought a dumb fight. Miguel Cotto has so much to offer. Keep in mind PBF was ahead by 2 points going into the 10th round. I think A Cotto fight will be very close!

Nobody is overrated Floyd...he is a GREAT fighter..he has every punch in boxing and the little bastard is SMART as hell....what turned the fight was that floyd starting using his left jab to Hatton's gut and Ricky could handle that

    though

Cotto vs Floyd IS THE FIGHT TO BE MADE

    Floyd will win though

Cotto isnt exactly showing much interest in fighting Floyd either. He's targeting the Golden cross dresser next.

I think Floyd sould try to pick up a middle or even super middle belt. I do believe he has the skills and talent to avoid big punches of a much bigger fighter for 12 rounds.

    THAT would cement his legacy.

You just want to see him destroyed!

He's too small to fight effectively above 150lbs. If he was allowed to weigh only 150 and fight say, Kelly Pavlik, it would be conceivable that he could avoid taking any serious punishment for 12 rounds and win a close decision. Unlikely, but possible.

But he certainly doesn't need to attempt that to prove anything any more than Hagler had to move up to 175lb and take on Michael Spinks...

If Floyd was a true champ, he'd go up to 160 and take on Pavlik.

    Hatton belons @ 140.
His style demands a strength advantage.
PBF has more to do-Cotto, Williams, Mosley, maybe Margarito.

    No class at all.

Oh yeah, and awful predicting as well, "There's no fucking way Floyd stops him! Forget that!".

Not at all. I've always liked Floyd. His performance against Corrales is the boxing showcase which i refer all of my friends to when they ask about boxing.

I think he could pull it off, and that it would have a dramatic effect on his public perception. just like the way that the public loved Roy and Eubank after they mvoed up in weight.
