Seriously, what happened to vicky? You were pretty high on him right?

He got crushed like a bum by a Nonito, who looks like a 12 year old :tease:

I thought it was slightly closer than some here, 7-5, but margarito didn't win it. He did fuck all the whole first half of the fight.

Margarito had to pick his spots with a nonstop Williams and not ALLOW Williams to HOLD him on the inside which Williams did A LOT of.

His punches were slow and without POP to them. Williams did tire but not enough for Margarito to take over the second half of the fight.

They could do it AGAIN. Maybe in the rematch Margarito will see that he needs to be accurate with his body punching and start earlier.

Seriously Williams won maybe 3 of the first four and round 12. He held inside, pitty patted with his offense and got ZERO respect from Margarito. This isn't the ammy's, you have to make an impact with your shots and Williams honestly didn't do that. At least not in my opinion.

I could have lived with a draw, but a 116-112 card for Williams? Get the fuck outta here.

Well tam, I'm usually not one for pitty pat punches but he landed the one half decent one, and when you're landing that many pitty pat punches it has to count for something, especially when the other guy is doing fuck all.

I think margarito waited for him to tire, and it failed. He should have gone to the body hardcore, and taken more chances, it's not like he had to worry about paul's power.

Put it this way, I placed a bet on margarito, so I obviously wanted to give him the rounds, but he didn't win that fight, I gave him 5 rounds, being objective.

I had money on tonio but I'm not a fan of either guy.

margarito is one of my favorite fighters, but I thought he lost 7 rounds to 5. there's no way he won 6 or more rounds.

As I said I could have lived with a draw, but no way did Williams win. I'm sick and tired of fighters being rewarded for employing a negative a style. Holding and 100 arm punches shouldnt win you a world title.

Man I don't like williams at all, but he wasn't that negative. He threw arm punches yes, clinched a bit, but anyone averaging 100 punches a round is not fighting negative

Mayweather against hoya, that's negative safety first bullshit.

for the first half of the fight margarito was the negative one, it was pissing me off. Paul may have been punching like a pussy but he was landing clean more than tonio.

This thread is trolling. It should be closed. Not even Margarito's mother thought he won this fight.

he outworked him man and won more rounds, i knwo alot of punches where blocked but margarito wasnt throwing anything early, sure he didnt land nearly as much as he threw but marg didnt throw shit early in the fight, and his shit wasnt the cleanest, not enough activity early in the fight, it basically boils down to the boy won more rounds

I didn't get any of that shit, bro. I'm an Aussie and we got Dave Bontempo all day. I heard them scoring it for Williams, but they also thought Gatti was doing OK.

Why are you being a fuckass? I thought Margarito won and was camping when Darchinyan got KOed. I don't understand that gay shit here. I never thought Vic was some hero, but he was deserving of a top 2-3 position @ 112. I told Val months ago that I thought Nonito was good. He can vouch for that.

    Vic ain't an AUstralian anywho

I just thought this was a shitty decision is all.

Paul Williams landed over 100 more punches.

How does a guy who does that only win 3 rounds in your book?

Or is that me just being a fuckass? :dunno:

btw, I thought Vic was Top 2, #1 arguably.

But Margarito did nothing at all. Wiiliams dictated the pace of the fight, he went toe to toe with Margarito, none the worse for wear because of. Margarito could not even back him off. That being so you can't really give Margarito the benefit of the doubt for more effective punches.

I think that people just had too much stock in Margarito. The guy is a decent well rounded Mexican fighter, not a champion. He beat some good second tiere guys through sheer will and his body punching... tonight a second teire guy took him out. That is the way the second tiere of the division should be.

But seriously Ashes do yu really think Margarito could have given Cotto a run for his money:dunno:?

Ashes point is not ridiculous. Williams did not really beat up Margarito and show a clear cut win. He was more active and Margarito was not active enough. Williams got their first because his punches are straighter but neither guy was hurt or comprimised. That is a fucked up way to lose a championship.
