After receiving his black belt in Kempo Karate, he started training BJJ under Rickson and Renzo Gracie. He then later moved on to Nova Uniao where he received his black belt through Joao Roque, making him the first Canadian-born BJJ black belt. Now teaching BJJ out of the Kombat Arts Training Academy in Mississauga Ontario, Mark is ready to dominate the MMA world. With a well-established list of local and international championships (including the 2006 ADCC North American Trials for Submission Grappling) and with his current undefeated 3-0-0 record, Mark has his eyes set on the UFC.
