It is now official. It should be a great fight but it's a shame too because I really like both guys. Before the Cain rematch I would say JDS just pummels Hunt but seeing that Cain cracked JDS' chin I think Hunt has a shot. If he does beat JDS this would have to be one of the greatest comeback stories in combat sports history.

Why do people keep saying cain cracked JDS' chin? That fight went to a decision. Nobody was KOed.

    Hunt by KO

JDS stand up is not all that, and his cardio is as bad as Hunt's. And while I know he's supposed to be good at BJJ, I've never seen it.

Dude, please. JDS has questionable cardio but its nowhere near as bad as Hunt's.

Cain hurt Junior and knocked him down to be sure. But after 5 extremely grueling and painful rounds, JDS heard the final bell.

Mark Hunt would have had a heart attack in his corner after 2 of those rounds with Cain. JDS is an amazingly tough fight for anyone including Cain in a rubber match.

Hunt is a live dog, but JDS is much more well rounded and should win this.

Agree completely. If the money line is big enough, I'd bet Hunt.

Dos Santos got rocked badly in the first round by a Cain right hand. Sure he didn't get stopped, but he was hurt badly.

Mark Hunt hits much harder than Cain.

I have a bad feeling about this fight, I feel like JDS will stand with Hunt and get knocked out. I don't remember JDS ever shooting for a TD, but if there was ever a fight he should it's this one.

People probably said the same thing before he fought Carwin.

Hunt's striking is a lot better than Carwins. Carwin is crude and has power. Carwin also might have even worse stamina than Hunt.

My point is really about JDS having good enough boxing and chin to stand with anyone in MMA. He doesn't need to take Hunt to the ground. He can kill him from range. And if he does get cracked, he isn't going anywhere. He's taken the big shots of Nelson, Cro Cop, Yvel, Carwin, and Velasquez and has never been stopped.

And that's exactly why I think it's going to be a fun fight. Hunt will have his chances because JDS will stand with him.

It's amazing what a year will do. If this fight happened a year ago, people would be calling it a mismatch of epic proportions. Now people are looking at it as a tossup.

Hunt's run has been fun, but JDS is elite. Hunt's not winning this fight.

True, but you can't deny it should be fan friendly while it last.

You have to favor JDS, he's just better everywhere. I think Hunt has a real shot though.

Hunt is a live dog for 1 maybe two rounds tops. JOM saying Hunt and JDS have similar cardio or whatever the fuck he said is laughable. Mark Hunt seriously goes into Cardiac Arrest before finishing 5 rounds with Cain. I do agree with Z though. JDS shouldn't fuck around. If I don't recall, he has a brown belt from the Nogeira bros in BJJ. This is the time to use it. Sub him out round one. Don't fuck around.

Exactly Jarhead, he should just play this one safe and take him down right away. There is no sense in playing into Hunt's strength.

    Striking is also Junior's strength.

Its not like JDS is some stud BJJ player that can have his way with Hunt. Hell, in the MMA sense, Struve is probably a better BJJ practitioner. And he couldn't sub Hunt despite multiple attempts.

And by the way, Junior is a BJJ black belt now, but as Anthony will tell, it don't mean shi if you don't use it.

Seeing how badly Cain hurt JDS, I don't know if he wants to get into a war with Hunt standing.
