    No Whiskey, but she can whip them as well.

    She very seldom finds girls to spar with her, and I've seen her kick the hell out of every male boxer she has sparred with, some of them quite good incluiding several state and national champions.

    She is the best amateur boxer in the United States, irregardless of gender.

    What is with this stupid hyping of female fighters. You know pretty damn well no female fighter whips any decently schooled male fighter of the same size, let alone national champions.

    Hell you would probably beat her easily.


    Oh I just read she weighs 112lbs - so there isn't even any male who weighs less than her...

    She is The Best Amateur Boxer in the United States.

    She got the better of Gilbert Renteria, a national Champion in the gym three weeks ago.

    Yeah the best female pro Boxer in the world (Whoever that is, Mathis?) isn't beating any welterweight national champion either. I don't think "best female amateur" in anything gives you any kind of reputation against men.


    Ok - I just saw Renteria is 15 years old and was 80lbs 3 years ago - now i don't know what to make of this but it doesn't exactly support your point convincingly.

    Don't get me wrong Karl, I'm dying to see a girl who has skills but aside from Lucia Rijker I've never seen one and i've been following female boxing more than most on this board.


    I will believe you, that she has skills and that she is the best female, but she is not beating let alone whipping any male her age and size who is a national champion in a not obscure country . AND YOU KNOW THIS, KARL - you have boxed yourself!

    Well Lucia didn't fare too well. The problem is in sparring most guys don't return the fire equally, when the girl turns it on. Rijker wasn't so lucky against the asian dude.

    Marlen was outpointed today vs. the Chinese World Champion- Cancan Ren of China- but they fought in China.

    Still, the paramount objective was to qualify for the Games, which she did.

    They will match up again in London.
