Rosario puts him on the deck a few times, especially early and likely it's enough for him to win the decision, even if he does his usual and fades in the second half if his opponent hasn't died yet

Marquez can be hurt, pretty easily in fact and he was easily pushed back by guys with 1/10 the pedigree of Edwin Rosario, but he's exceptionally resilient

FOTY candidate. It's up for grabs but i'll go with JMM. Similar scenario to what cdogg described. He has to come off the deck.

Second half fade for Rosario plus the ability Marquez has to adjust edges it for him imo.

I got Rosario by UD. I agree he drops Marquez a few times early, and builds a big lead but Marquez takes over late and makes it somewhat close.

I don't think Rosario could consistently beat any of the good fighters of his own generation. I find it difficult to envision him beating a guy like Marquez.

    reminder: JMM went tooth and nail with Juan Diaz; he's no lightweight;

Hard to imagine Rosario couldn't hurt JMM consistently. Whether that would be enough to win him the fight is a question worthy of debate.

    Or Freedie Norwood....

BUT no really I favor Marquez but who knows...other than Pacquiao(who it seems they have each others number) Marquez hasn't fought many top fighter above 135 unless you think OLD ass Casamayor, punching bag Katsidis, and baby calf are TOP fighters.

I favor Marquez counter punching and ring intelligence...to win him the fight...wouldn't bet money on it...

In his two best opponents that best resemble Rosario(very loosely okay relax) Katsidis and Diaz at or around 135-140 Marquez had to give and take punches..it wasn't like he just used his superior defense/ring generalship ala Floyd Jr. to win those fights..he got into the fire with both those guys and was tag plenty and drop very hard by Katsidis....and he ain't no Rosario....just saying...

I think the Rosario of the Bramble and Camacho fights would fuck Marquez up.

Rosario by KO, but it'd be a good one.

it's more amusing that a guy who had trouble with the firepower of people like Diaz and Katsidis is such a shoe-in to beat one of the hardest hitters in the history of the division

Thats because Chavez never beat anyone good.

Both Marquez and Pacquiao destroy him.

Do you think he'd have Marquez selling sombreros on a beach in Ixtapa?

    THANK YOU.

Now all of a sudden Marquez is this all time great because while clearly on PEDs he scores a one punch KO of Pacquiao that probably would never happen again.

This. If Rosario hurts/drops Marquez, it's a lot different than it happening from Diaz/Katsidis. Rosario hits harder than the two of them combined. I don't see anything from Marquez's fights at 135 to make me think he beats Rosario.
