I had it 114-111. Ray Charles could've scored that fight. Who is that fucking idiot that had it 114-111 for Vasquez. What a fucking retard. Cupey
REED WANTED Marquez to Win, but he DIDN'T... The Point Deduction was JUSTIFIED, as was the Knockdown Call...On Top of that, Vasquez Finished MUCH Stronger... REED
Bollocks, Israel won, close but clear. With the point off for the low blow, and the knockdown, you'd be an idiot to have Marquez winning. The right man got the decision, and there's a reason why the press row all had Vazquez winning, because he did.
The ref could have stopped the fight in the 12th. I actually thought that the ref did stop the fight but he just called it a Kd. Vazquez should go to jail for attempted murder for the 12th round beating he gave Raf.
It was fucking close, and you don´t have to be an idiot to have Marquez winning.   ...and no I didn´t have Rafa winning, didn´t score it. :flip: :flip:
Yeah you do, the rounds were clear, 1 point KD for Marquez, 2 points to Vazquez for the low blow and KD. You would have to be stupid yes to have Marquez winning, I was pretty surprised when I heard it was a split decision. Bloody Gary Shaw.
You're putting us on right Cupey? Just beating all the other idiots who like to start a "___________ Got Robbed" thread for every single close fight that ever occurs..................right?
Since all fights were hella exciting should we have a fourth. I mean hell this fight could have gone either way. We should demand a fourth fight and pay these little fukers big money to get in there and go back to war. I'll Holla 5000
Thats the only way they should fight again for big time paper. No reason for these guys to kill each other for 6 figures.
You've gotta be kidding me. Vazquez CLEARLY won that fight. 114-111 was the right score. I was rooting for Raffy, but there is no possible way you can give him more than 6 rounds in that fight-- and even 6 is being generous. Berstein, who is normally great, had an off night with the scoring. He and Albert were too busy telling me what a great fight it was and not noticing how Raffy was geating beaten up in the middle rounds. 114-111 is the right call, even though I thought the low blow point was a bit excessive. None of the warnings (and the last straw) were all that over the line. Nevertheless, the right guy left with the title tonight.
I thought he sucked all night. It was like he was Mr. Opposite for most of the fight. I had Vazquez winning the first 3 rounds, with 1 and 3 being close. Hell, I only had Marquez winning two rounds with two others being even so it's not like I expect many to agree with my card, but the damage was being done by Vazquez all night.
My case for a draw This fight should have been ruled a draw. The score should have been even, and from a boxing-as-a-whole standpoint neither should have been awarded the rubber match. Marquez is clearly the better, more technically skilled boxer, there is just no question. Vasquez is an incredibly tough, tactical puncher, but is not as skilled as Marquez. Vasquez could not win a single round boxing. His rounds were all won by charging forward and hurting Raf. Marquez won rounds both ways. Marquez won rounds by using the jab, keeping distance, and generally out-boxing Vasquez considerably. Further, other than round 12, I think Marquez hurt Vasquez worse, and more often than the other way around. Looking at their faces really showed this. Seeing them in their corners confirmed it. Vasquez often looked BAD while getting facial surgery in his corner. Marquez looked TIRED. Most times when Marquez was stunned it was due to one punch; when Vasquez was stunned Raf would land 3 and 4 shots together. That being said, Vazquez closed the show, and showed unbelievable stamina and will. He came on when he needed to, and Marquez faltered and was punished badly in the closing minutes. This charge at the end of the fight, along with the legit KD of Marquez in round 12 was enough to sway the fight back from Marquez to the even point. I could not give the fight to Raf after the last 2 rounds although I had him leading going into them. THE POINT - the point deduction was WRONG. Please do not cite the fact that Marquez was low earlier on, or that he talks funny, or that he stole a tricycle when he was 3. What happened before was irrelevant, the looping left to Vasquez's body was not only COMPLETELY LEGAL, but HURT Vasquez as well. I rewatched it 10 times in super slow-mo, the punch was on the oblique of Vasquez, above the belt line, I would say 90% if not all of the glove was on skin, not belt. Vasquez in fact crouched a bit which helped the punch land completely legally. If you look closely at what happened, Marquez was watching the right elbow of Vasquez closely, and threw a distracting right which caused Vasquez to raise his elbows, and Marquez quickly popped him square in the body, hurting him. This wasn't a flailing low blow or desperate punch, it was perfcelty timed, perfectly landed, and may have made a difference in the round. In a fight like this, the ref should do less "enjoying" of his time in the limelight and a little more good officiating. The point should not have affected the fight. Without it, the fight would indeed have been a draw as it should have been and both these guys could go their separate ways knowing they are both great, and both deserve to be held in equal esteem. Raf kept saying "repitelo, repitelo" begging dumbass Jim Grey to show the "low" blow again, knowing it was legal, but Showtime was not concerned with that. "No puede ser" was right, this was no robbery and no horrible decision, it was just the WRONG decision for what is likely the last fight between these 2 guys. Series 1-1-1, I don't care what boxrec says. Both guys are fantastic warriors and deserve massive credit for the entire trilogy. I am a fan of both now.
No it's 2 to 1 Vazquez. And the low blow call was fair enough, although the one that was deducted was borderline, he had thrown a lot of proper low blows before that. And Vazquez won 7 rounds.
There is no way Israel could be denied the decision. I've never seen a fighter 'turn it on' in the final round like he did. After 11 brutal, bloody and painful rounds, Vasquez some how mustered the stamina and desire to throw punches nonstop in the 12th. Marquez came out for the 12th expecting the same pace and basic tactics of the preceeding 11 rounds. Unfortunately Vasquez came out of his corner like an escaped convict looking for trim. He hunted Marquez down and delivered an amazing beating. The fight was on the line in the final round and Vasquez wanted it more.
