Cotto isn't fat enough for the full 160 apparently.

Unless Martinez declined and got old Cotto is going to get stopped. The catch weight is pointless. Martinez typically is under `160 in the weigh in anyway. Just food for thought here. Martinez has been getting caught and dropped lately. His style is high risk and his reflexes could be deteriorating. THis could be Cotto's shot. Chavez Jr almost had him out in the 12th and since then he has been dropped and injured.

I think Martinez looks great here. He's had time off to get healthy and he didn't really look slow against Chavez. He got dropped because he was trying to slug with a guy who was 20lbs heavier

Sergio is a guy who fights to the level of his opponent I think... He'll be ready for Cotto and I think he'll win in impressive fashion.

I believe Cotto will give Martinez a lot of trouble. Martinez has been troubled by less skilled fighters, I don't see any reason to believe it won't be the case against Cotto. Martinez is aging and he doesn't bring anything to the table that Cotto hasn't seen in his career. He isn't even a big middleweight.

Martinez has to be favored but I don't believe it will be a domination if he wins.

how embarrassing for my boy to catch weight at 159 :pathetic:

seems alot of head games being played in these negotiations , just a lb below sounds just that , but if your trying to make history you make it a middleweight , no questions asked

that being said its a 50/50 fight imo , both guys need things to go right to win

Thats key here for Cotto. Martinez is aging and I think his reflexes are declining. He has been getting dropped lately as a result of it. We also have to think about the injuries and the time away from the sport.

Good Fight...If Martinez is Careless or Toys w/Cotto, it Could COST Him...Even Today, Cotto's NOT the Guy you Hold your Hands by your Sides Against...Martinez Should & Probably WILL Win, but Cotto's a VERY Live Underdog Here...60-40 Fight @ Most...

Martinez is ready to be taken. He has struggled in his last four fights, needing a questionable decision to overcome Murray, nearly getting KOed by Jr (although it was otherwise a good performance) and falling behind on scorecards both against Barker and Macklin. He is 39 next month and coming from a long layoff caused by injuries. The situation to bet against him is very tempting

However, Cotto isn't the same guy he was three years ago either. Trout handled him rather easily (and has lost twice since) and the fight against Mayweather was one-sided too, although Floyd's tactics made it look more even than it was. I predict Cotto will make a fight out of it, but at the end he will have to settle for a loss once again, despite giving fans plenty to see

What is interesting in this case is that both lose the edge that they are used of having. Martinez of now won't be quicker than Cotto, whereas Cotto won't be the stronger man in the ring. Quite often this situation turns into disaster for a fighter (look at Byrd or Chambers coming down from heavyweight and facing faster guys). We'll see how that turns out

159? What a fucking waste.....Cotto should at least make him come down to 157, or he really want to be a cunt about it 155....if Maravilla doesn't like it he can go fight GGG for $150.27

50/50 fight. Would be big for Cotto's legacy if he wins.

I think it'll be competitive... Martinez is overrated as fuck around here and he's looked like shit in his last couple of fights

I think Martinez should win this. He's not only the bigger guy but has the wheels to move when necessary.

Cotto is past it, but if he can handle the added weight, I think he can take Martinez. Cotto is good at taking down movers. That's a big if, though.

Don't care, Cotto is a faded name and Martinez is engaged ona final minimum risk - maximum profit lap, I don't know what significance this fight has and i'd guess it might also be a bore
