Let's assume for a moment that Hagler decided to take a break from fighting Euro stiffs, Latino road sweepers and blown up Lightweights and welterweights and decided to actually challenge himself and move up 8 pounds and fight a naturally bigger athletic African American fighter. What happens if he fights Ward at 168lbs? I'll tell you what happens....Ward beats him the fuck up. Doesn't come anywhere close to stopping him of course because Hagler's chin was made of material only found on a planet orbiting a distant star, but he totally outfights him and wins a wide UD.
Same response as the Taylor-Vargas thread. Hagler was the better fighter, but Ward wins on size. I DON'T think it'd be a Ward domination though. Ward seems to have difficulty with a good jab, and Marv had one of the best southpaw jabs of all time and a VERY long reach for his height. Therefore, I think Hagler would give Ward trouble, but I'd expect Dre's size to win him the fight.
