Can't wait for this fight....Watching that faceoff you can see one guy is an childish man child and the other is "Sugar" Shane Mosley.... I like when Mosley tells Mayweather I know it's not going to be an easy fight, i'm too old(wise) to think like that....
Yup this faceoff exposes the fact that Shane is naturally a very very nice guy. A true gentleman...and Floyd is somewhat immature and on the defensive. Personally, and I've said this before...I think Floyd is struggling with the fact that he likes Shane (who wouldn't) and wants to create some animosity between them. Shane is simply not obliging.
These guys are polar opposites. Floyd is all about feeding his ego and wallet while Shane is just a fighter. Period. Personally, IF Floyd is going to lose to Shane or Manny, I sure hope Shane gets it. I have said it before and I'll say it again, how can anyone not be a fan of Shane Mosley?
Great segment. That almost redeems Max for the garbage commentary in the Clottey fight. I hope Shane can push Floyd.
One guy was personable, authentic, and showed a lot of character the other was Floyd Mayweather. May was using all talking points as if he was reading from an index card. The other was conversational, down to earth. One thing is certain floyd might win the fight but it won't be before the fight begins. After the initial whirlwind of the press confs, where Mosley was in Floyd's world, he seems CONVINCED he'll win. I hope he is right for the sake of boxing.
Mayweather tries to come across as such a hard scary motherf*cker when all he does is tip-tap pitty-patty backfoot shoulder-rolling sh*t like a f*cking bitch! F*cking clown got owned by a shot Oscar. He would never have survived against the Oscar whom Mosley beat in 2000.
Fraud's a piece of shit,... but he needs to beat Shane to keep the spotlight on advanced random drug testing,..so on that lone basis, I'd like him to win,.. if it wasn't for that,.. I'd go back to more or less wishing for his death, or in the very least, praying for Mosely to knock him out cold.
Although it was childish, disrespectful and prickish to say "I caught the tail end of it" in regards to the Plasterito fight, OVERALL Floyd was less of a knob than usual actually. That was the only knobish thing he did in that interview. I could be wrong, but I don't think Floyd is as confident as usual against Shane, not that he's scared of Shane etc, but he's just not quite as sure of his chances of winning as usual. Which he shouldn't be, seeing as Shane is only the second legit welterweight of Floyd's career. And no I don't think it's just that he likes Shane. I don't think Floyd really likes anyone but himself.
WTF. Both dudes came across as guys that like each other and trying to hype a fight. I couldn't see any of the things that you guys saw. Man you guys read way too much into shit I swear. I'll Holla 5000
You can tell they both respect eachother as fighters. One thing that made me laugh was when Kellerman asked Mosley what he'd do different against Mayweather that others havent. Then Mosley said Mayweather takes advantage of overaggressive fighters and then just starts potshotting them. Then you can hear Mayweather start laughing, probably because he knows Mosley just described him perfectly.
Floyd likes Shane. This much is clear. He's TRYING hard to create some kind of animosity..and Shane is just being too respectful. In any event...Floyd seems just as confident to me, but he knows that he'd have to be at his best as Shane is no joke. As such..IF Floyd is a little scared...Shane's chances of victory actually diminish. Floyd was actually a little scared of both Corrales and Gatti (yes Gatti) and we see how those fights turned out...
Dam I can't wait for this fight!!! both guys do like each other I think. I think Shane is just a good guy and floyd comes off as a young guy coming up.. of the two, i think Shane is truely more confident and more at peace with himself/his career I hate to say it.. I think FLoyd most likely wins.. but I really really want Shane to win
Shane's gameplan seems to be to box Floyd. So watch for teh first two rounds to be a little slow...with no one leading in a game of cat and mouse. But the slugger will come out of Shane once Floyd shakes him up with a couple sharp counters and body shots and then Shane will attempt to turn it into a slugfest. Floyd will then pick him apart like a surgeon.
Because of Clottey, this fight might have more ACTION than the one last week. Certain people are the same in front of cameras and when they are turned off. Mayweather giving Mosley the ultimate compliment back in 2000 in the locker room and declining to confirm it in the face off segment. In 24-7 more of the same lavish boasting Mayweather and on the other side what you see is what you get Mosley. Mosley knows Floyd is a very tricky fight in his too old for that comment. When Mosley said he can hit with either hand, a smile came to Floyd's face. He doesn't think he can be touched.
It'll have NO Bearing on the Fight, but 1 Thing that Stands Out to REED is Sugar Shane's Way of CUTTING THRU Floyd's Bullshit...Like when Floyd Said,"I Don't Wanna B like NO Fighter", Shane IMMEDIATELY Reminded Floyd of when he Came to Shane's Dressing Room Years Ago, Paid Respects to Shane & Said he Wanted to B on His (Shane's) Level Someday... Or when Shane ASTUTELY Points Out that Floyd Only Fights for Money...That Immediately Made Floyd Get All Sentimental, Referencing his Mother on Drugs, Pops in Prison, etc... Sugar Shane ISN'T a Dynamic Speaker or Anything, but he's Got a Knack for DISARMING Floyd's Verbal Excrement.... REED:mj:
Unfortunately we'll see floyd return to floyd when 24/7 starts...interestingly enough...I've seen a few interviews with Roger Mayweather and he's been nothing but respectful of Shane...let's see how that changes over the course of the broadcast as well.
Very true... Just like when Floyd mentioned Shane needing money for his divorce...which is odd considering Shane was divorced last year...then Shane responded by saying Floyd came back because he needed the money...shane says "my company paid his tax bill." This was said at the press conference and during a tv interview a couple weeks back. All that matters is the fight and what happens between the ropes...leave the side show aspect out of it. It's boring.
