    According to Dan Rafael:

"When Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather meet on Sept. 20, Mayweather's welterweight championship will not be at stake. After defeating Steve Forbes last week, De La Hoya said he would face Mayweather at 150 pounds -- the same weight at which he faced Forbes -- meaning Mayweather's 147-pound title won't be up for grabs. "I'll keep it at 150. Not for the title," De La Hoya said. "It'll be for no title. I just want to be the best." De La Hoya claimed he weighed 148 pounds when he left his training camp in Puerto Rico, but he did not explain why he wouldn't drop one more pound to fight for the welterweight championship that he used to own."

He didn't explain because he never weighed 148. He told reporters he was 3 lb, under the Oscarweight limit a week before the fight, yet weighed 1/2 lb over at the weigh-in.

And Rafael's "news" confirms what we already knew - that this November will be the 2nd anniversary of linear champ Floyd's last fight against an actual welterweight.

No surprise, I never expected it to be for the WW title anyway.

Since Mayweather won the WBC "champion emeritus" @ 154, I expected the WBC to do something with that.

Personally, REED was More "Hyped" For that than he is for Floyd-DeLa II...

Sure, Julio was All but SHOT, but the Pre-Fight Cut he Suffered COMPROMISED the 1st Fight...

So there was SOME Level of Intrigue...Plus, REED was @ a Fight Watching Party w/his Mexican Homey's...

N the Case of Floyd-DeLa II, we'll Get a "24/7" that REED DOESN'T Give a Fuck about, Followed by a $59.95 PPV that REED DOESN'T Give a Fuck about...

It's not like the first match was a complete shutout.

I don't really care much for this fight but I think there have been many worse RE's made over the years.

What are your thoughts about PBF? Are you in agreement with his choice of opponents? Because personally I think it's bullshit he is fighting Delarican again and still proclaims to be the best in the world!

nah, not unless he plans on signing with Golden Boy in the near future (the mandatory requirement for sitting ringside, or even being seen, at one of their events)

Who cares what belts are on the line or not on the line. This fight means nothing anyway. GBP should just go ahead and make up a belt. Like the "Half retired businessman posing as a boxer championship of the world"

:nono: They wont stack the undercard, they'll be looking to make this 50 bucks again, and even if by some intergalactic miracle they did assemble a brood of funky chickens on the menu, would you still lick the braising, knowing Fraud rubbed his cock all over it?....so to speak.......:notallthere: why dont you send Floyd some money in an envelope?
