*Yes, REED COULD have "Voiced" These Opinions in the Round by Round Thread, but that Shit is OVER 40pgs Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong & a FRESH Thread on the Matter Seems Warranted...

Overall, REED was VERY Entertained by the PPV...Those Criticizing the Card Seem to B Focusing on the VERDICTS a Bit Tooooooo Much, as Opposed to Appreciating the ACTION that Took Place Prior...

    1. Floyd Looked GOOD in REED's Opinion...FLAT Footed for Virtually the Entire Fight, STALKING Ortiz for the Bulk of it...Any "Slippage" that he Showed was Due More to INACTIVITY/RING RUST than Age...DEFENSIVELY, Floyd's Morphing into a More ATHLETIC Version of a Prime James Toney & it's a PLEASURE to Watch...Working from CLOSE Quarters, yet Making the Guy Miss (BADLY) Most of the Time...

REED EXPECTED Ortiz to B Competitive, but by the End of the 1st, it was OBVIOUS he Wouldn't B...Floyd was Drilling Ortiz w/More & MORE Right Hands, that were Getting Increasingly HARDER...REED Predicted "Floyd TKO 9 or 10", but it WASN'T Even Gonna Last THAT Looooooooong....Ortiz CLEARLY Headbutted Intentionally...That's NOT Even Open for Debate...Floyd's Reaction Wasn't Very "Sportsmanlike", but REED Would Rather a Guy Lean Towards Being "Dirty" than Tooooooooo NICE...The Sugar Shane SERIAL Glove Touching Shit Looks MEEK, to B Blunt...Floyd Showed a KILLER Instinct that he's Not Often Credited w/Having...Ortiz Got into Floyd's Head PRIOR to the Fight & Floyd Reacted like he WANTED to Hurt him...A Part of REED LIKES a REMORSELESS Fighter...

Ortiz COULD have Continued in REED's Opinion...But he was ALREADY Breaking down Mentally & he Found a Convenient "Out"....Decent "Comeback" Win for Floyd & a Relatively Fan-Friendly Fight while it Lasted, but NOW it's Pacquiao or Bust...

    2. Canelo Alvarez Seemed to B CARRYING Alfonso Gomez a Bit...Canelo Found Out VERY Early that he Could HURT Gomez, then he Seemed to Back Off...He was GIVING Gomez Rounds by Literally Doing NATHAN...Yeah, the Stoppage was Premature, but Gomez was FUCKED UP...He was Sooooo Out of It he Instinctively Touched the Area of his Face that Hurt AND Blankly Walked Away from Canelo...He was on the Verge of Getting STRETCHED...REED Likes Canelo...He MIGHT B All Hype, but he's MARKETABLE & Boxing is Better Off w/Cats like Canelo Succeeding...

    3. As Usual, Erik Morales is INCAPABLE of Having a Boring Fight...The Young Buck was SCHOOLING Morales Early...Erik Tried to "Box" w/Him Initially, but Dude was Toooooo YOUNG, Tooooo QUICK, Tooooo MOBILE...So Terrible Said "Fuck it" & Broke the Young Buck Down...By the 5th or 6th, U Could Tell it was a Matter of Time & the Fight Probably COULD have Been Stopped Sooooooner than it Was...This was the Type of Beating that Can RUIN a Young Fighter, Similar to Tito Trinidad vs. David Reid or Fernando Vargas...

    4. Floyd's Guy, Jesse Vargas, Got a GIFT Over Josesito Lopez...Lopez was Behind EARLY, but he CONTROLLED 3/4ths of the Fight, in REED's Opinion...Should've Been a UNANIMOUS Decision for Lopez...

GOOD Card Though, in Terms of Overall Entertainment Value...Especially if U DIDN'T have to Pay to Watch It...

Yup...Ortiz once again QUIT...but this time he did a better job of it..he didn't quit on his feet walking away from his opponent like a bitch. He has taken harder shot than that right hand from Floyd..and gotten up.

Ortiz smiling and kissing/hugging Mayweather after the fight is all the proof you need he QUIT..and was happy it was OVER>.
Excellent acting job by Oritz, much better than any of prime Tyson opponents..or De La Hoya vs. Hopkins.

I'm upset the fight ended the way it did, ONLY because it ended too quickly. Without Ortiz dropping his gloves, it was about to become an artistic, sustained ass whuppin in Floyd's favor. Floyd probably would have ended matters in the 7th or 8th.

Floyd was blocking and slipping virtually EVERY punch in Ortiz's rushes, and if any clean shots did get home, Floyd handled them easily.

Whilst on the other hand, Floyd was about to have target practice with right hand leads on Ortiz.

I blame ORTIZ though. He's a bitch plain and simple! You try to INTENTIONALLY headbutt a man, then wanna try and hug it out multiple times? Ortiz is as mentally SOFT as they come.

All and all there shouldnt be too much controversy though. If Floyd was STRUGGLING, or losing, and ended the fight in that fashion, controversy would be called for. But he wasnt struggling.

Like REED said, it was apparent from the jump that Ortiz was in over his head.

I said I wouldn't watch the fight and I didn't and won't, but I'm not remotely surprised to REED the majority opinion that Ortiz quit. His card was marked from the second he walked away from Maidana swearing that he didn't need to be hit by anyone. This is a guy who genuinely doesn't like boxing- or at least the part which provides that someone might actually hit him back from time to time.

Of course, before the fight some had him pegged down as a 'young, hungry lion'...just to blow some more smoke up Floyd's ass. Fighting Khan isn't an option either- I'm not interested in another mismatch and nor should anyone else be. He should fight Pacquiao or he should fuck off. This shameless money grab became boring a long time ago.

HBO probably come out of it with less credit than Floyd does. After all, its up to HBO to under-write these affairs, which they did.

    Overall the card was solid.

Vargas-Lopez was a pretty good fight. Morales was well, Morales. One of the most entertaining fighters of all-time. Alvarez-Gomez was okay and Mayweather-Ortiz simply ended poorly. Up to that point, it was enjoyable to me. Then again I find most Mayweather fights enjoyable, he is a pleasure to watch.

In a way though, I am happy that the fight ended in unsatisfying fashion. I am hoping for Mayweather and Pacquiao fights to be disappointing and perform poorly at the box office, so fans will no longer put up with this shit until they fight each other.

I fell asleep during the alvarez fight.

    Thoughts -

*Ortiz is technically horseshit. Sqaures up whenever he does anything, way over the front foot with his head forward half the time, shitty balance when he punches, gets caught bouncing on his toes in punching range like a junior level amateur. Just totally inept at world class level (at least in a historical sense, right now its basically normal). Shows how garbage Berto was, who was even more bumbling.

*Don't like the late Lets get ready to rumble thing, hope it was just a one fight experiment

*Floyd is beautiful to watch in a boxing ring (Repugnant in every way out of it). That right hand lead off the front foot is basically a new brand of jab. He gives up any power on it, but it's just so unexpected from that position, even if guys know going in that he's gonna do it. They've spent their whole boxing life wiring in a different response into their nervous system to a guy shifting forward, it's reflexive. Brilliant shot & a brilliant adaptation to that crab style which basically gives up an effective left jab, just by the angling. Just a master boxer.

*I liked the knock out. Ortiz deserved it on every single level. And his fawning, smily congratulations afterwards were pathetic.

*Floyd is a little prick. He's gonna die lonely, miserable and no wiser than the day he was born.

*I like Merchant, even though he's been shit for years. He should retire.

Agreed. It's an excellent weapon. It takes a lot of skill to do, it but it's not a freak athletic Roy Jones type move. I think in the future we'll see more boxers trying it from time to time.

REED Doesn't Think Floyd was EVER Hurt or Anything Close, but Ortiz Definitely Got Floyd's ATTENTION w/the Salvo of Shots just Prior to the Headbutt...U Have to Wonder WHY Ortiz would PURPOSELY Foul Floyd, During his Only "High" Moment of the Whole Fucking Fight???....

I will still watch ORTIZ....even though he is a QUITTER...Judah was mental midget who came apart but kept on going. Ortiz is a quitter even when things are going OKAY for him at the moment...

he was practicing that shit in training camp. headbutting and hitting mayweather jr with elbows, for retaliation whenever they sensed mayweather jr pushing off with his own elbow.

Ann Wolfe Said it Best, "Floyd's More of a SCAVENGER than a PREDATOR"...In the Ring, Floyd's More of a THINKING MAN...His Reaction was SNEAKY, No Doubt, but it Showed a Complete Lack of REMORSE & a Sense of MALICE that REED Actually LIKED Seeing...

Again, Would U Rather have Floyd Glove Touch EXCESSIVELY, like Mosley Does???....
