Both Cotto and Margarito are gone enough.....Mayweather will fight the winner now.

Cotto won't have to worry about the rangy persistence of a guy like Margarito, he won't be at a height disadvantage either. Speed difference is there but I have a feeling it's not as big as it would have been say 6 years ago when they should have fought first.

Cotto is a competent guy with more than a semblance of defence. He is composed, way more so than that irreparable fucktard Ortiz.

He's also got more than 1 fight at 147 under his belt.

I like this fight. And Cotto deserves the payday.

He aint all that, but id like see how Floyd handles a proper sized welter like Mike Jones. If the Pac fight cant happen thatd be my second choice. Id like to see Pac fight Bradley at 140

And it better not be any 70-30 or 80-20 bullshit either.

Cotto HAS fought Pac, HAS fought Margarito, HAS fought Clottey, and beat a better, fresher Mosley than Floyd did, like YEARS before Floyd did. He's won a title at 154. He fought better guys at 140.

This should be 50-50 and it should be at MSG.

It'd make it feel like much more of a two-way promotion - kinda like Hatton having 20k Mancunians in Vegas did.

Mike Jones, hmm, there's something up with him. He seems quite good, but just doesn't have "it".

There's something missing, he should have dominated Soto Karass and Lujan, he certainly could have done, I don't know what it is with him.

As we both know, Floyd avoids fighting full framed welters for a reason, but I think he'd have an easy enough time with Jones, a couple of problems here and there purely down to Jones's frame, but overall, Jones doesn't have it at elite level.

Agreed - NO chance Jones beats Floyd or even gives him a good fight. Im coming at it from a detached/historical point of view of what it'd tell us about how Floyd would get on with a good full sized welter. He's gonna retire soon, after 6 years at the weight I think we're due some clue to how good a welterweight he is. Delicate, one handed, 5'7 Cotto gives helps us towards no further answers, IMO, even if it might be a better fight.

Mayweather slaughters him. 12-0 maybe late stoppage. Cotto is a few levels lower in class.

I'm with Ike on this one.

Some have said over the years that Cotto might have the style to upset Floyd..... but Ive never seen it.

Its always been my opinion that Floyd would light Cotto up, and my opinion hasnt changed.

Cotto, as always, would give a brave account of himself. But Floyd would take him apart.

Cotto may not land a single punch. Too slow. Floyd could zig when he needs to zag and still have time to correct himself and counter Cotto silly. I would cheer for Miguel. I just see no rational reason to pick him, however. .

I dont see Cotto avoiding ANY of Floyd's lead right hands.

Whether Cotto lasts the distance or not basically depends on how he fights. If he actually presses Floyd all night, I think he gets countered to death and eventually knocked out.

If he fights on the outside, Floyd just pot shots the shit outta him for 12 rounds.

Call me INSANE..... but I'd rather see Floyd vs Khan.

I wanna see Cotto vs Canelo.

A bunch of mexicans and ricans would disagree with you, but I get what you mean. It would sell a lot though.

Basically at this point, I like Cotto and dont wanna see him beat up anymore.

Floyd, and Martinez...... he should stay away from those two fights.

Canelo, Kirkland, or the Berto-Ortiz II winner..... those are fights I wanna see him in. Fights that he would win, and earn a nice check in the process.
