These two were around the same tier IMO - a tier lower than Jones, Toney, Nunn, and McCallum. How does it go?
I am 100% confident Eubank could take McClellan's punch, and I don't really see any other way of Gerald taking this.
I know Watson and the Jazzerciser dropped Eubanks Sr. but i would think in my mind that he still has enough durability to out-last McClelan
Even getting dropped by Watson and Calzaghe doesn't mean much. Eubank survived a brutal war with Carl Thompson, who easily punches harder than McClellan.
McClellan wasn't a lateral moving pure boxer type either or concerned with a lot of the finer points in a way that might exploit Eubank's lead feet and tendency to over extend when forced to lead.
Yeah, Eubank by UD is the safe bet here. HOWEVER, there is a wildcard - Eubank could be hurt to the body, and McClellan's hook to the body was devastating. That gives Gerald a chance.
Eubank is probably the favorite, but it's far from a foregon conclusion that he would win. Not far from a pick em imo
