Torres is a VERY skilled fighter from East Chicago! He is 5'9 and fights at 135 lbs and currently the bantamweight WEC champion! He is reguarded as being one of the top fighters in the world on many rankings! Not only that he was trained by the late Carlson Gracie Sr. (someone who i look up to and the lineage of bjj i train from)! So what Carlson saw in him was a champion! It took Torres skill to warm up to Carlson, whom after a few fights took Torres under his wing (Carlson) and helped him out to become a great fighter! Not only that, Torres has the fighting spirit and the cardio capacity to hang in there through and through. He is someone to look out for, and he means business when he steps in the cage, which is expected coming from a Carlson line of MMA (much like BTT, brazilian top team). - J
Yep, you ain't resting in your guard against Torres. He'll hit you somewhere with something no matter what the position.
REED Can Definitely See that Happening N a Year or 2... If REED Ran WEC, he'd Encourage Both Guys to CLEAN OUT their Divisions Completely, for the Time Being...N a Year or 2, Faber-Torres Could B THE Biggest Fight N WEC History... REED:hammert:
Thats a good call REED. I would love to see Frankie Edgar move to WEC and drop to 145. I think he beats Faber.
Though Torres is Obviously TALL for his Weight Class, his STRENGTH DIDN'T Impress REED All that Much...He's AGGRESSIVE, QUICK, has GREAT Stand Up, GREAT Ground Game, but he's NOT the Strongest Guy N the World, Pound for Pound... Against Jens, Torres would B Giving Away Size AND Strength...Faber Gave Away SIZE, but he MATCHED Jens' Strength (Possibly even SURPASSED it)...REED Isn't Sure if Torres Could Do Likewise... if, If, IF Torres BEAT Jens, that'd SIGNIFY that he's READY for Urijah Faber...But REED Certainly WOULDN'T BET on Torres Beating Jens...Not N 2008, That Is... REED Would Wait til LATE 2009, PRAYING Torres & Faber REMAINED Undefeated, then Match them Up, & AVOID a Torres-Pulver Matchup Altogether... REED:hammert:
