Holyfield pulls out with an injury, the Tyson camp fufill the November PPv slot with Mercer instead. Tyson coming off Seldon, Mercer 5 months after the Lewis fight.

    Does Mike pull it out?

Tyson probably wins. Mercer's fight against Holyfield was closer, but Tyson vs Holy was all-even after five rounds too and even between rounds 7-9 Tyson still was in it.

Tyson vs Mercer would be a brutal bombs away war, where I believe Tyson's bigger punches and better defense would eventually win. Mercer was better in making fights close than actually winning

Mike wins. It'd be an entertaining fight though. And Mercer's jab would certainly give Tyson problems.

Even in 1996 Tyson would have the fleet-footedness to out-box Mercer

Tyson did go 11 rounds with Holy that night at a good pace.

Tyson definitely has the chin to take Mercer's best and he definitely has more skill and better work rate. So the only question is does he stop him or not? I say not. So it would be a competitive beating type fight. Tyson UD.

I think the real question is does Mike have the fortitude to go a hard 12 rounds because he'd have to
