Ok a lot of people like to say that boxing isn't real fighting, and MMA is. However in most street fights, as you can see in the video, there are a lot of things being done which are illegal in MMA. Like stomps, kicks to downed opponents, blows to the back of the head, other people joing in.

Most of them actually start off with 2 people standing and trading punches which is exactly what boxing is. Again, i'm not suggesting that boxing is street fighting either but it's certainly a major aspect of a street fight. A lot more street fights i have seen resemble a boxing match than an MMA bout with guys using legal kicks and going for submissions and ground and pound, although of course from time to time it will happen, 1 dude in the video i posted does some nice ground and pound, but i havn't seen this executed often in a street fight.

Seriously, what's your point? If you don't like MMA, why post in this forum? MMA is MMA and boxing is boxing. What do either have to do with street fighting?

I know, but the main perception is that MMA is considered to be real fighting and street fights go to the ground ect... While boxing is viewed as being 1 dimensional.

Joe Rogan says it's actual fighting, while boxing is a silly agreement to only use hands.

The guys a tool catering to the ignorant masses, just because there are lots of them that share that view, doesn't mean they aren't full of BS. Regardless of what DiBella and Rogan say I just think the arguments a waste of time and stupid.

No shit. I've yet to see a real street fight with rules, a referee, judges, gloves, weigh-ins, or a governing body.

MMA is a sport. I am not a fan of MMA because it's closer to street fighting than boxing or wrestling or kick boxing or muay thai or BJJ.

Dumb thread by another simpleton that can't appreciate more than one combat sport. Ridiculous.

I think Pride rules were the closest to street fighting.

I know it's pretty savage but i liked the idea of soccer kicks. One nice way to eliminate lay and pray types.

MMA is closer to street fighting than boxing. That's obvious. It's not street fighting. That's obvious, too.

The last fight on the video where the big black lady beats the hell out of the guy is pretty funny. It's like watching real pro wrestling.
