I didn't end up betting. Castillo came in to about +110 and thats a little too tight for my liking.

awesome fight! I've been wanting to see this fight for years.

I've always liked Montiel better. But I think he has been too inactive. Against Castillo you can't be rusty.

It's a toss up really, but guaranteed to be an awesome fight.

Both guys are on the decline IMO. The best bet is that it will go 12. I can't see a KO unless Castillo is stopped on cuts.

we got this, mijares, viloria all on the same card.

I know Santa Anita has been having some kind of problems with the track but fuck can't this be kept to a minimum

nothing fake, its a legitimate criticism to suppose that guys that size couldn't beat up the average 200lb man in an actual fight.

I don't hate on it as much as others, but sometimes its tough watching a fight knowing there won't be a KO no matter what

until you've stood next to someone that size, u can't even imagine how small they are.

Brain Viloria came up to the bottom of my shoulder, and has the sense of size of an 11 year old girl...I'm a skinny pussy who weighs 150, he'd probably take me in a streetfight, but not anyone I know of reasonable stature

It's not legitimate at all. Isn't the sport called boxing? I would take any of the 4 smaller guys to kick your ass in the boxing ring. It's a stupid argument. There is weight classes in most combat sports for a reason.

BTW-There are some good punchers in those classes. That's a stupid generalization.

There's no way Rod Coleman could outrun DeAngelo Hall. For shame!

    no it isnt.

yes any professional of any size would crucify me in boxing, but part of the suspense is the potential for a fight-changing punch. At those weights, more often than not, what you end up with is action filled but drama-less rounds.

I never used to rip small weight classes until I went live and stood next to people that size. Its just embarassing, on TV you can't really tell but they are abnormally small humans. The best 106lb boxer ever could never beat up Jim Lampley in an actual fight, and that kinda takes away the allure for me and others

An actual fight? I thought this is a sport of boxing? I am confusing the 2 or something? Oh and yeah it's a stupid generalization saying none of the guys in those classes can punch. There are decent punchers in those classes. Funny though, a lot of people would rather watch 2 guys gas out after 5 rounds and hold the shit out of each other.

which refers back to my original generalization, which was..."its tough watching a fight knowing there won't be a KO no matter what"

Yes this can be said about other divisions, but how many "one-punch" KO's are there amongst top level guys below 122?

    ....

What was KO of the year last year again? It's actually pretty funny. There aren't a lot of 1 punch KO guys in ANY divisions to be honest. I don't see any Julian Jackson's around.

From about 13 months ago...top 10 guys in each weight class per boxrec...
    Weight/ KO % of top 10 guys
    105 52
    108 59
    112 61
    115 48
    118 62
    122 71
    126 60
    130 66
    135 62
    140 67
    147 71
    154 64
    160 65
    168 66
    175 65
    200 71
    Hvy 78

Keep in mind that these %'s will include performances where the junior bantam might have weighed 115 3/4 lbs and therefore, was not technically a junior bantam. (sorry)
