Maybe having it at 140 would even the playing fields a bit, since Marquez clearly has more left. Neither man really belongs at junior welter so there wouldn't be advantage one way or another.
Marquez would beat him down. Erik used up at the weekend a lot of what he had recuperated, he took a pounding to the body and that eye isn't going to be properly healed for 6 months. Chris Eubank had an eye like that after the 1st Thompson fight and it never healed properly. Don't want to see this.
3 months after the 1st Thompson fight, Eubank still had a black eye. And Eubank had dark skin and you could still see the bruise. The eye just swelled up even worse the 2nd time around.
marquez still picks him apart imo. he's a much more precise and accurate puncher than maidana. i wonder how maidana would've reacted to clean shots from marquez. 140 is pretty interesting because we have all these good fighters but none that are great. plus, there are some aging veterans who can still compete w/ these not so great young guys. i'm sort of in the minority, but if marquez vs. judah happens, i'm going w/ marquez to win via late stoppage. he's going to be able to land clean to the head and when he does, i think he'll hurt judah like he did vs. casamayor.
marquez should be strongly considering this match instead of the direction hbo appears to be steering him toward with guerrero. if morales wants a title more than money then he'd have to make 135 for this bout to be worth it to him
I'd like to see but i don't give Morales much of a chance. If Marquez really steps on the gas he'll stop Erik.
Marquez is in negotiations with Judah. I would like to see Rios destroy guerrero but i know the fight won't happen.
Guerrero is a miserable opponent for anyone. He is quite capable of kicking anyone's ass from what I can tell. Otoh, he's already got some bad performances so you won't get the credit you deserve if you beat him.
He's also a massive-framed guy at the weight. At 140+, if he retains the speed and the movement, then with any luck he will turn Rios into a bobble-head.
Trust you to not like Morales, quite possibly the single most likeable fighter in boxing history. Morales!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, Rios and Guerrero don't work together.....:laugh11: Brandon "Bobble-Bobble" Rios would get laid out faster than a cheap carpet at a dingy motel.
