Mosley-Judah in the works! A verbal agreement has been reached between Golden Boy Promotions and Premier Event Management (PEMG) for a May 31st, 2008 showdown in Las Vegas between Shane Mosely and Zab Judah. This came out of nowhere. Interesting match up.
The rumor I heard is Mosley-Mayorga on May 17th. Now this. Either way Shane will win by TKO, whether its Zab or Mayorga.
From an action stand point, Mosley-Mayorga might be more exciting. But terribly one sided IMO. Mosley would beat Mayorga's ass from pillar to post. Mosley-Judah certainly figures to be more competitive. But Shane is just a higher calibre fighter than Zab, and MUCH tougher both physically and mentally, so Shane figures to beat Zab as well.
Mosley didn't seem interested in this fight at all after watching Judah disgrace himself and bitch up against Cotto. Why would he be interested now? Where's your source for this? I'm not sure Mayorga is the eaiser fight for Shane than Judah is. Judah's done, he has no more confidence left and he'll bitch up against Shane just like he did in the last half of the Floyd fight and like he did for the entire Cotto fight.
Twice the fight that the Mayorga one would have been. This isn't great, but it's a damn sight better than that other rubbish on offer.
Well, Judah has shown that he's willing to stand there and do nothing while guys pummel him for 12 rds. So you may be right. Why is this a better matchup than Mayorga again? Oh yeah, because some of you are still living under the belief that Judah's talent may come shinning through this time. Mayorga was more impressive in his last fight than Judah has been in his last 4. The guys through I tell ya.
sure but Judah fought guys like Mayweather and Cotto. Mayorga beat an already shot VArgas. kind of hard to compare don't you think. ::
Zab is a fucken overrated scrub to the very highest proportion, Zab is Tyson-like overrated, he's a straight can, and this must be a quick tune up, because there's no difference between him and a club fighter, Emanuel Augustus puts up a better and more entertaining scrap. Above we've got "good fight" and "competitive" ,... fuck off
Intriguing fight if it comes off, really a question of how much Mosley has left, if he has anything left he should beat Judah, after all, he gave Cotto a very good fight and would appear to have a bit left. It won't make any difference as far as 147 is concerned, except in so much as the loser is out of business, period.
Judah aint no boxer! He may give Shane trouble in the first 5 rounds, but after that we all know he'll fall apart.
Good Matchup... Not as Intriguing as it Would have Been Several Years Ago, but it's 1 of those Matchups that NEEDs to Happen for this Particular Era... Better LATE than NEVER... REED
It would be if I hadn't included Baldomir and the tomato can Zab just fought and looked unimpressive against. Overlooking those 2 fights I mentioned would have helped your point had I actually not mentioned them. Even if I hadn't mentioned them the point is that Mayorga would likely put up a better fight than Zab would.
Mosley just put up a great fight against Cotto while Zab basically let Cotto treat him like a heavybag and you say Shane should beat Judah? Only way Judah wins this fight is if he is able to put all his talent together and fight up to his potential, which would be only the 2nd time he's done that in his career. Even then there's no gurantee he wins. I mean what does Shane do when he's attacked? He attacks back. What does Judah do? He either gets KO'd or he mentally breaks down. Only queston is if this will be PPV or not. Who am I kidding? Of course this will be PPV.
This isn't a bad match up, though not one I'd pay for. The blueprint for beating Judah is well known, and so the only intrigue in this fight is whether Mosley, at his age coming off a brutal fight with Cotto, can still implement it. Judah is one of those fighters that other promoters must love...because he will almost reliably lose in exciting fashion.
Zab can box. He's not the best but he can counterpunch and uses movement. Like you said for the first 5 rounds of a fight Zab can box his ass off ...Anyways Shane isn't what he used to be and he might not be able to catch up with Zab.
At least Zab is on par with Mayorga in the trash talking contest, so we don't lose the only aspect of the fight that Mayorga brought to the table.
sometimes fights between two guys with blazing hand-speed are boring (witter/judah). but mosley isn't your typical quick-handed fighter. he's much more aggressive. if the fight's boring it will be because judah's speed and power have intimidated mosley - improbable scenario to say the least.
Ah?,.. Would you call this one, Zab's 3rd consecutive 'superfight' ?... Reed please,...not since Tyson have I ever seen a fighter so overrated,..
REED Would Call it the "3rd Consecutive" Time Zab has SOMEHOW Managed to Make a More MEANINGFUL Fight than Margarito Seems Capable of Doing... REED:crafty:
