    Linear champs only please.

I keep going back and forth between Marciano and Liston. What say the masses?

liston fought better comp throughout his career. as a champion though, marciano was clearly more accomplished.

had they fought, i think liston would've smashed rocky.

I want to say Tyson but that's more for his fans than his accomplishments, he is clearly a great fighter, if an underachieving one. I dunno, ermmm...yea Frazier I guess

Yeah, I misread the title in my current slumber, fuck I'm tired.

Ok so overrated as opposed to 'worst' ... alright,.. I'll go with Mike Tyson easily,..in a league of his own really,.. forget just heavyweight,.. he's the most overrated fighter ever.

It depends on who does the rating. People always overrate guys who were in their prime when the people were in their prime themselves. Thus, the most overrated ones lately have been Frazier and such, now the throne is slipping to Tyson (as writers are reaching their 40s again). In all time sense it has to be Dempsey though, since besides his own generation some still speak of him as an all-time great

Exactly my thinking. Perhaps these guys don't know the definition of "overrated".

Next people are going to post John Ruiz or Bruce Seldon.

I don't think anybody rates them at all, let alone overrates them.

Dempsey is a good pick. I was going to say Holyfield, but Dempsey is probably more overrated.

    Shhhhhh

I think RJJ of the Ruiz fight would dominate 90's Foreman just as easily. If you disagree with that statement then you are overrating 90's Foreman something rotten.

Because people think that he'd actually win fights on a mythical level despite being arguably beaten by Axel Schultz, and losing a wide decision to chinny Moore before landing a fluke, miracle and possibly fraudulent punch, and losing and semi-meaningful fight otherwise.

He probably does, but that's a hideous fight either way.
