Robinson and lightweight Duran would be the two leading examples.

I wouldn't put Duran (even lw Duran) at the same level as a puncher than these guys were

I'd very much say that Duran was a puncher at 135. What would you categorize him as?

In any case, more guys you could add to this list:

    Olivares
    Moore
    Trinidad
    Tyson
    Liston
    Zarate
    Jofre
    Finito Lopez

He had a very particular set of skills. Skills he acquired over a very long career, skills that made me him nightmare for his opponents.

"If you let my belt go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't...I will look for you. I will find you. And I will make you fall multiple times with one punch."

The first and only name which come into my head upon reading the thread title was Joe Louis.

    He was the quintessential puncher.

A lot of good names already mentioned.

Azumah Nelson is also another skillful puncher. Also prime Donald Curry.

Azumah Nelson was certainly a puncher. I'm not sure what I would consider Curry. He certainly had KO power, but I tend to think of him more as a boxer-puncher, whereas Nelson I would consider a puncher-boxer.

I never think "puncher" when I think Terry Norris. He had legit pop, but his KOs came by virtue of being a tremendous combination puncher. And typically, he stopped guys via accumulation.

Norris hit a faded Curry 1,000 times before finally wearing him down and stopping him in 9. I feel like a true puncher would have gotten Curry out quicker than that.

I'd nominate Khaosai Galaxy for mention. He was far more skilled than he gets credit for.

So you're saying Trinidad wasn't skillful? Typical of the types of things you say.

I nominate Crawford. He's one of those strong country boys that has deceptive power. His power is over shadowed by his skills but the way he's able to effortlessly hurt his opponents like(Spence) tells me if he sat on his punches more he'd have a lot more kos.

Certainly, his skill was evident in his fights, particularly when facing opponents like Mayorga, known for his brawling style. The distinction between a pure brawler and a boxer-puncher was quite clear in those matches. However, while he possessed skill, placing him at the pinnacle of the most skilled punchers might be a stretch due to his somewhat one-dimensional approach. As Bernard Hopkins aptly noted, his strength was primarily in his left hook, leaving him vulnerable if that weapon was neutralized.

Sorry man. Trinidad beat De La Hoya as much as it hurts Oscar fans.

But yes Trinidad was quite skillful.

I think Artur Beterbiev should be listed as a skillful KO artist. Underrated ring IQ.

Also GGG should fit the criteria as well.
