    1. Ortiz & Peterson are good fighters, but clearly a tier below the likes of Con, Maidana, Bradley, and Alexander. In fact, Kotelnik is better than both also. Ortiz has nobody but himself to blame for a draw, he shoulda been more aggressive and let his hands go... but it appears as if Chino forever changed him psychologically. Chino has officially done to Ortiz's career what Rosario did to Camacho. Put a permanent fear in him that altered his style.

    2. Khan-Maidana was a good fight that made up for Ortiz-Peterson being terrible. Even though Khan took a page outta his mentor Oscar's book and ran at times, I give him credit for having heart. I honestly thought he was a goner in the 10th. He's lucky that Maidana is so crude, because a more technically sound puncher woulda had him out. But lucky for Con, Maidana is the only real puncher at 140. Ortiz can punch, but is a mental midget, and cant beat Khan.

    3. Joe Cortez is COMPLETELY shot, and is now HORRIBLE and should be banned from ever reffing any major fights again.

    4. Roy Jones proves once again that he's the best commentator ever, as he picks up on things that none else on the team notices. I wish he would just quit fighting already, and commentate on a full time basis.

    5. Conman probably passed his biggest test tonight. His mediocre chin probably cant be exposed by Bradley, or Alexander. I expect Bradley to beat Devon, and once that happens Khan matches up pretty favorably against Tim. I'll reserve judgement on that matchup though til after Jan 29th. I dont expect Khan-Bradley/Alexander to be next though.

I'm expecting Khan-Ortiz next. Or hell, given the scares of tonight probably something safter.... Khan-Peterson.

Good post Xplosive, but I disagree on number 3 completely.

He's not shot at all, he's a ref for hire.

Also, if Bradley decisively beats Alexander, I expect him to beat Khan.

    Highly possible.

We'll see. Stylewise though, I think Khan is tougher for Timmy than Devon is. I'm not liking something about Devon Alexander. And what I dont like about him is that I think he's too nice. Has nice skills, and decent talent, but not enough meaness in him. I think Bradley exposes this.

Khan should aim for bigger money fights. Bradley - alexander winner, or mayweather jr if he wants it

You really think theres more money for a fight with Bradley/Alexander than Maidana?

absolutely. maidana aint drawing shit. khan went through hell and somehow survived, based on his toughness and/or the officiating. depending on what you choose to believe.

either way, a fight against the winner of bradley-maidana will be more tactical and khan wont have to rely on toughness as much as his skill in that bout.

if bradley - alexander is an interesting bout (which i expect it shall be) or there is a decisive winner, then there will be more interest in a unification fight with khan, and more money.

I agree. It was a good win and people were saying he wouldn't even sign to fight Maidana.

The outcome was good for the sport.

In England that would mean Khan. In Australia that would mean Katsidis.

The Khan-Maidana fight was a great fight. Really, one of the most exciting I've seen for ages. I thought he was an absolute goner in that tenth round, but once again he showed what a ballsy little bastard he is and he ground out a deserved win.

From rounds ten to twelve Khan reminded me more of Hector "Macho' Camacho vs Rosario than DeLa Hoya vs Trinidad.

He did the smart thing- he ran, held, farted, did whatever he needed to do.

But he didn't win a single fucking second of any of those rounds.

Maidana was in total pursuit, landed the heavier shots, trapped Khan on the ropes repeatedly and had no difficulty imposing his own methods.

How Khan won the last round 10-9 on one of the cards I will never know. He couldn't have looked more like a man who wanted out of there.

Okay, so I've literally just rewatched round eleven to see if I had seen a different round to you.

Maidana stalks Khan for the first minute or so but lands literally nothing of note. He looks like he has punched himself out. At one point Khan spins off the ropes and Maidana falls exaustedly through the top and middle rope.

Then Khan moves to centre ring and bangs home the best punch of the round by far; a crunching uppercut (at 1.25). Maidana wobbled fractionally. Khan then sticks Maidana with a three punch combination at 1.16, again clearly shaking Maidana. They are by far and away the best four punches of the round by either fighter and they clearly hurt Maidana. Khan then takes the initiative in the round, throwing more punches and landing ocassionally, whilst Maidana plods forward throwing not much and nothing effective, until the end of the round.

That was a close round, but IMHO Khan won it for the reasons stated. To suggest that Khan 'lost every second' of the round is absolute nonsense.

    Khan quit vs Prescott.

He could have got up but he didn't.

He just lay there and said "fuck this, this is racism, I want out of England"

And his buddies in the Guardian nodded sagely, and said "let the EDL go to hell"

Khan never won the 11th. But it doesn't matter.....he lost the 12th and still won it. I mean......why don't you come around to my point of view- Amir Khan is a moderately talented, heavily protected commodity fighter, who had the ref on his side and judges who would score diamonds with chalk if you let them.
