Best virtuoso performance of the last 10 years! MAB was reduced to a sparring partner for 12 rounds, which enraged him to the point of slamming Naz into the ring post in the last round. That bitter loser!
The fight was even-steven to around the 6th, Hamed and Barrera swapping rounds en route. Then Barrera simply took over. I knew Hamed had blown it when he started trumpeting all the religious shite. That was him whistling past the graveyard his career would become by the evenings end. No other featherweight has fought such generally average competition whilst simultaneously attracting Million $ paydays and comparisons to the all time greats. Some of Hameds performances at the "higher" level were soporific and farcical- McCullough {former Bantam Champ, 12 rounds} Cesar Soto {WBC feather- 12 rounds and some bodyslams} Paul Ingle {126lb IBF} 11th Round KO.
Over Pacquiao-Barrera 1? I loved watching Barrera-Hamed. Not the most action-packed fight, but suspenseful when it happened, and great to see Hamed get tooled.
I was struck by how big Barrera looked, having moved up from 122. Hamed really was a small featherweight.
WTF? if all the tapes of that fight get lost and this was the only surviving one, 50 years from now this will be evidence he outpointed Barrera easily in a 12 rounds UD. Muslims rewritting history just like the Vatican has done.
What's funny is you couldn't find 8 minutes of footage of Pacquiao/MAB I that could've made it look like MAB was winning. Would've loved to see Pacquiao give Hamed a beating.
Hamed fought Barrrera in April of 2001 in Las Vegas. Imagine if he fought him in New York 6 months later instead. How huge would that fight be ?

Well, Barrera isn't an American and Hamed never disparaged the US or Christianity, he just bragged up Allah which is his right.
Do you think people are that reasonable? Hell, I've seen programs where they detail how Sikhs were harassed at football games a few months after 9/11.
my sister has a good friend who is Indian... for certain holidays she has to wear some sort of ceremonial headwear (some sort of Indian thing, has nothing to do with Islam) ... this girl is visibly of Indian descent... she doesn't look at all like someone from Afghanistan or Iraq or Pakistan or Iran... she is Indian all the way well back in 2001, she and my sister were in the same college, and when they were walking back to their dorm after a class, they were greeted by shouting and taunts of "terrorist" and "sandni&&er" and the like... now this is from students at a respected university, educated kids, shouting this crap at a girl who would look right at home in New Delhi because she had soemthing on her head and she wasnt pale... so I have NO DOUBT that what you were saying is correct and that people would absolutely have treated Hamed as if he went to a flight school in order to learn how to fly a plane into a building its sad, but its true
