It will be called Fury Road and it will star Nicholas Hoult (yeah I don't know who he is neither), and Charlize Theron.

It's going to suck because Charlize Theron is in it. That means 1 of 3 things. Either she's going to be a good guy and the Road Warrior saves her and brings her along or she's a kicking ass good guy who teams up with the Road Warrior. Or 3rdly she's the villian.

Either way when was the last time putting a chick in a big role in a post apocolyptic film was a good idea. Sure, Tina Turner wasn't bad in Beyond Thunder Dome but I'd much prefer a guy as the villian. Theron is only there to bring in the perverts who need T&A to keep their mind on the film which means the script is shite.

The best thing Theron can do for this film is be the 5 minute road kill that sets the Road Warrior off on a vengeful quest. Anything longer than 20 minutes of screen time will kill the film.

    Ouch...but I agree.

Mad Max was a classic revenge movie. If Charlize is the setup to the muderous rampage then I'm all for it. If she the villain it will blow. If she is the stereotypical 'girl power' chick, it'll blow.

Do not fuck with the formula.

    Wasn't she in "The Road"?

Played her part well in that.

Yep, and that's not exactly a movie I'd recommend to anyone I know. To be honest I couldn't sit through it again myself and Theron really didn't bring anything to her character's role which wasn't her fault. Basically the role was so small and utterly pointless that I'd forgotten she was even in it.

Besides I wasn't trying to say that Theron sucks. My point was I don't see a good reason in bringing in a big name female lead to a Road Warrior movie.

I thought it was excellent. She had a small role but it was very pivotal to the point of the story.

She also has never had a problem, not being the "star" of a film or taking smaller parts. She's not a camera hog like most bigger name actresses.

I agree, "Mad Max" doesn't need a female sidekick or a femme fatale romantic interest. I don't think Theron being part of the cast makes either of those an automatic.

Then again, there's a 90% chance this movie will suck anyways. I can see them replacing all the actual stunts of the original movies with bullshit CGI and fucking it all up.
