    Steve Kim:

IBF flyweight champion Nonito Donaire was scheduled to defend his crown against Hussein Hussein on April 18th in Dubai. Not anymore.

"The show’s completely off," his manager, Cameron Dunkin, would tell Maxboxing. "The promoter didn't come up with the money, cancelled the event."

At first a few fights were scratched to make the budget work, but when sponsors were lost, the show was doomed.

"So we're stuck without a fight," says Dunkin.

Good, fight somebody worth a damn now.

Nonito's legit but he needs to take on another big name to prove that he's a real star.

What's Arce doing? They should make this fight for the summer. I don't think the schedule for summer 08 has anything yet.

Arce is fighting in May on some Top Rank ppv with Chavez jr.

He was trying to land a fight with the champions at 115 but they are all scheduled to fight.

Crazy shit is Arce might fight Vazquez at 122 by November:eeeek:

speaking of Arce, why was Nonito gonna fight his leftovers?

Nonito is a champion at 112 but the division is dry he should move up to 115 where the big fights are.

It is a desert mirage, but if a fighter doesn't have much going on it probably sounds really good.

Perhaps Gary Shaw should actually try to promote him.:dunno:

Arce gets retired by the next decent fighter he steps into the ring with. Nonito would retire him, Vasquez would retire him, heck, even Munoz would have a good shot at retiring him.

in the mean time Nonito was gonna fight Arce's leftovers.

Arce is a big draw which is why he will be around for a while.

Even Nonito admitted that he got no love from the Phillipines before the Vic fight.

He is also wasting his momentum from the fight. He should be at 115 where all the big fights are.

Arce bitched out of a big money fight with Darchinyan. So Nonito stepped up and taxed that ass. Then Arce got his ass beat by Mijares.

Now Arce wants to cash out against Vasquez, aka Rafael's daddy.

Arce and Vic never fought because of the lawsuit between Arum and Shaw. Nice try though

either way Nonito was about to fight Hussein who Arce beat twice already. Yeah nice way to cash in on the Vic upset.

Arce has no defense and very little skill and is a face first brawler. You should be a fan - it's right up your alley.

Arce hasn't even beaten a prime marquee name, something Nonito, Mijares, and others have done.

Nonito did beat a decent beltholder who was also overrated to begin with.

Mijares became a big name thanks to Arce even though he was the defending champion it was Arce who made him famous.

Okay so you admit that both Nonito and Mijares have beaten in their prime, marquee names. We both agree on that.

Arce hasn't beaten anyone, how can you reconcile that with your nuthugging?

I don't nuthug anybody first of all.

I am a fan of Arce because of the way he fights. I never overrate the guy like he is something special.

but it's stupid for you to rip him as a figther while hypeing Mijares. Even though Arce is Mijare's biggest win.

Right now Nonito is a one hit wonder. I never heard of him before the Vic fight. I just knew his brother got his ass beat by Vic not long before.

I do think Nonito is the goods but is wasting his time at 112. And god knows why he was scheduled to fight Hussein. :dunno:

Arce got handled by Mijares so easily, that's why the win meant something. I find it hard to give Arce more than 1 round in that fight.

Nonito recently knocked out a guy who Mijares could only get a draw with. You simply don't know much about boxing.

Arce recently was getting his ass kicked by a no hoper at 118 until he landed a lucky body shot.

I did see the fight with maldonado and for that reason I keep saying that Arce is Mijare's biggest win.

Don't make Maldonado some great champ that Nonito kod just cause Mijares drew with him.

your boxing knowledge is basically waving a pinoy flag on every post.

I'm serious. Name one elite fighter Arce has beaten or just admit you don't know much about boxing.

I guess you consider Vic an elite fighter. I don't

Name one thing Vic can do aside from punching? the guy looks like a crab walking in the sand when he boxes

I'm surprised it took this long for him to lose.

why don't you take Bautitsta from that banner for your own sake.

I heard Viloria has been calling him out and apparently there's some bad blood between them. Nonito says he robbed against him during the Olympic trials. I personally have never seen the fights so I can't comment on it, but it sounds like Nonito's also a bit bitter that Viloria got all the hype, while he was pretty much annonymous until the Darch KO.

Viloria is a decent name, at least for Filipino fight fans so I wouldn't mind seeing that fight, but I agree that he should just scrap 112 and head to 115 where the other names are.

in that audio interview Nonito said he don't wanna fight Viloria because he is not on his level. Which I agree with. Viloria struggled at 108 so it's pretty pointless.

Nonito said if Viloria can get past his brother Glen than he would fight him because Glen is capable of beating anybody.

I can understand him supporting his brother but that's nonesense.

Nonito said he did wanna fight Arce, Mijares, and Montiel.

again he needs to get his ass up to 115 where the big fights are.

:crafty: It is simple. Let me remind you. The catalyst for your constant fighting is due to the fact that he is Asian, and you are Hispanic, both these ethnicities feature stronger in lower divisions, you want hispanics to win as many fights and to hold as many titles as possible so that the mere symbolism can make you feel personally empowered in some way, and the same goes for your nemessis.

:crafty: Now get back to it, that race aint gunna become superior on it's own.

Sakata, Naito, Pong, Narvaez, Vazquez, Kameda, Viloria....there's plenty to do at 112 if Nonito really wants to (and the other fighters agree to, of course).

But if he's calling out the big names at 115, then he needs to pull the trigger and campaign there permanently to make the case, as he won his title at 112.

I've always liked Donaire and called his upset over Darch. I think he'd make for some spectacular fights with these guys at 112 or the top guys at 115.

    Peace.
