I hope so, but I think Peter is all wrong for Maskaev.

    i pick peter by SD...

but Maskaev is dangerous throughout the entire fight...and Peter just get shittier as the fight goes on.....Oleg has proven to have a SHIT CHIN...but if it can hold up to Peter*it should* I really see him KOin' sam late.....

    or maybe not...peter survives..and wins a decision..might be gifted..

Dont really care who wins, both these guys suck like the rest of the division. It can go either way, but I guess the safe pick is Peter by KO.

Oleg is truly a better fighter. Peter does not look like he trained seriously since the second Toney fight.

Brother Dsimon, you know I agree with you on most everything 99.9% of the time..

in this case I think you are mistaking.. Peter is going to look impressive and be the one to KO the big German.

Germany auto sales have been down a bit I heard but they are on an upswing and will really sell a lot of Beemers when Maskev is working on front line Sales of Beermers in Germany next year

Not really. He does have a shitty defense when his concentration lapses but apart from the Goofi fight he has been KOed by big punchers and big shots/combinations. In the Goofi fight he wasn't himself at all (coming from a loss). Tua, McCall and Sanders caught him with big combinations (Sanders, as crap as he was, was a big punher) and against Kirk he ran into a big counter. So yes, he is vulnerable but it is not like he had a Morrison or Hide-like chin

before the McCline fight I would pick Peter to stop Maskaev. But now I think he is more vunerable.

I still think Peter should win and will likely KO Maskaev. Maskaev is still older than Peter. He is only relevante cause he Kod that bum Rahman again.

I am picking the upset and have been for a while...

Maskaev by decision, if not late-rounds stoppage.

    Peace.

I hope Maskaev KO's Peter after making him wait for this shot for a while. That would be the ultimate clowning.

Brother Lok.... if I have to eat crow, eating a plate full in front of you and Cricky (Tam) is the best of a difficult situation. Now if I had to do so in front of Double L I would be crying as I shovelled it down.

He very well might. I've picked Peter by decision but I have absolutely no faith whatsoever in that pick. Peter is not very good at all, I just happen to think that Oleg is marginally worse.

It's so hard to judge HW's right now as, with the exception of Wlad, they are all pretty much appalling. Whenever I make a pick at HW nowadays, I always find myself looking at the two and trying to decide which is more woeful than the other and picking the least woeful.

    A very sorry state...

Indeed. I am starting to look at this like one looks at the I ching and destiny... Carl Jung on the I Ching: "The Oriental mind (remember Jung wrote a while ago) looks at a bunch of articles on the beach and unlike the Westerner who simply sees a bunch of objects washed ashore, the Oriental mind percieves a whole set of circumstances based on the relationship of the objects to each other, their relationship to the Tide, etc. This method divines a future past and present, a destiny, based on these variables."

Oleg has a destiny that is stronger IMO. He is big enough and a good enough puncher to come in and suprise Klitschko and he is better than Peter. I see him coming up as the under dog to fufill that destiny. Much like Braddock did to Maxie Bauer.... Oleg will get a little better chin, train just a little harder than the rest and may be a legitimate challenge to Klitschko.

These heavyweights ruling now have been very good amateurs and competition in amateurs is as tough as ever. However, as soon as they have turned pros, they have all stopped training and forgotten all they have learned about boxing. Might sound odd but that's how it is. Some lean American 6'2' 200 lbs guy should come and knock everybody out again. That just doesn't happen becuse nobody trains. In boxing that is, all other sports do develop but that is different. This can also be proven by the fact that these guys don't ush to each other and take 200 shots per round like flyweights. If they trained, they would do that. But that's how sorry the division is.

I really don't know how anyone could be a fan of Peter. He's just the ugliest, dumbest, most annoying fighter I've ever seen. His post fight interviews are absurd.
