When your fiasco awards show drops 58% lower than the previous all time record low (last year), you know your show is being watched only by your own people. The 'millions around the world' didn't gave two flying fucks about your 'racially diverse, gender inclusive' shit show.

True, but the historic low numbers of last night's Oscars should be enough to alert all its advertisers that there isn't enough viewers out there to justify putting expensive ads during the airing of this fiasco that deserves to go straight to PBS.

 

You pathetic righty motherfuckers would try to make this about politics, but it has nothin to do with that.

People just aren't as enamored with movie stars now as they were 20-30 years ago. In the 40-90s, movie stars were a HUGE DEAL... they just aren't anymore.

We live in an age where true stars are made on social media, and the movie stars we do follow, we have 24-7 access to via their social platforms, so who gives a shit about watching them at an award show?

Its a societal shift brought on by a change in the way we consume content and watch mediums. It has NOTHING to do with politics, and the fact that yall are trying to correlate it with political ideologies is incredibly sad.

 

And same explanation for cratering NBA ratings? That's not politics either?

 

Lebron (the face of the NBA) has been political his entire career. Hasn't stopped him from being a transformative force in strengthening the popularity of the league since he came in.

I know you expect NBA players just stand down like good negroes, and "shut up and dribble" but having such a big platform and standing up for relevant issues that affect the black community is a good thing.

 

Bullshit. It is all politics that has turned off viewers. There wasn't a single film nominated for Best Film that the average person had even heard about for which they could give shit to find out if it will win or not. The new Academy guidelines are as political as a BLM or #MeToo pamphlet. Some deserving films were ignored because they were deemed 'not inclusive enough' or 'too white'. No one gave a flying fuck about these pathetic nominees therefore the abysmal ratings drop from the previous year which was holding the record of 'worst ever'. I give you that no one cares for current movie stars, but these awards are mostly about the films themselves, not the egocentric celebrities who gather together to praise each other and spill their political agendas like their voice truly matter. Really, only groupies and simps watch the Oscars just to see what Angelina Jolie wore or if Brad Pitt grew some facial hair.

Maybe the fact that people haven't been able to, like, go to the movies might affect the ratings of a movie event. Just a thought
