In light of some of the recent threads in the GD forums, I'm genuinely curious.

Joe is now the undisputed No.1 at 168 and has beaten the guy many considered No.1 at 175, though I would agree that his effectiveness at 175 is diminished. Either way, he is at the top of, or very near the top of, two weight divisions right now.

Where do you guys rate Joe in terms of P4P? For my part, if Floyd really HAS retired, I'd rate Joe at No.1 P4P, on the basis that he is pretty much neck and neck with Manny except I felt that Manny looked diminished against MAB and IMHO, he lost the JMM bout by a point.

What's the consensus of the board?

    I agree p4p is dead

when you have guys like Joe.. and you are considering putting him on a p4p:atu: I mean.. that is a sad state of affairs

if you looked at all time fighters.. Joe would be no where on a list.. maybe at like 200th in his best weight

he would get embarrased by any of the other decent fighters around that weight for the last 10 years..
I think he will end up opening up a restuarnt in Wales and in the end be more famous for great burgers or whatver Welsh people eat.. he''' have pics on the walls of fights and fighters.. and patrons will love him.. talking..

maybe Ricky will join him an dhave the most famous british pup/reasturant around...

Calzaghe has got to be #1 or #2. The longest undefeated champ has to mean something. However Cotto has to be #3. All he's done is win and has looked good in doing it. After that it don't really matter. However after Roy beats the shit outta Calzaghe Roy will win his juice back and be ranked back at the top spot. I'll Holla 5000

p4p is about favorites, nothing more.

But to doubt Calzaghe's skills is ludicrous. At this point Calzaghe is in the top tier @ Super Middle and Light Heavy

do people actually think Roy can be competitive with a top 10 fighter (let alone top 5) after Tarver-Jones 3?

Calzaghe needs to fight Pav and win to be p4p #1. Pac has the title for now.

among slappers purporting to have blazing hand-speed, Calzaghe has to be #1. when he slaps without even bending his elbows, he has really fast hands !!! there's no denying it.

i had marquez beat in pac 8 to 4. i dont consider pac to be the best in the world, nor do i consider marquez to be the best. i guess calzaghe would be #1. i thought he beat hopkins fair and square.

I don't really dig P4P lists, they are too flawed.

But, in a P4P list I've had to put him at #1.

Beaten everyone he's faced, longest reigning 168 pounder ever, 2 frecent wins over Kessler and Hopkins, never really come close to losing.

He has to be #1, despite his sometimes absurdly amateurish, slappy punches

That's similar to my view and why I never had Trinidad p4p #1.

I'm a big Pacman fan, and he WAS deserved of the #1 ranking, but he is not the same fighter now. He has lost his fire bigtime, and his reign as a top fighter is soon to be over. He'll struggle with Diaz too.

Anybody can claim to be objective, but how many will admit their Bias?

To say a fighter who lost a fight in the last several years is higher ranked p4p than a fighter who hasn't lost in over a decade is pure :shit:
