40 pages of random parlor talk and no actual data, so here's a poll. I guess most would say either "Mayweather DEC" or "Pac KO" but I actually think the opposite - I reckon Pac's accuracy and workrate could make Mayweather go into his shell and lose a close decision - likewise Mayweather could catch Pac with a nice counter and KO him. Troo.
You should make it public. I agree to an extent btw. Pacquiao hasn't KO'd anyone in half a decade, I don't give him much shot of KOing Floyd. As you said, it's more likely Floyd catches him with a huge flush counter, a la Marquez. Or if Pacquiao wins it's down to Pacquiao's workrate, accuracy, and unpredictability winning a decision. Having said that, Floyd by boring, cautious decision has seemed the most likely outcome since it was signed.
Mayweather by decision in kind of a dud is what I think will happen... He'll fight real cautious I think and rancor aside, I think these guys fear each other to a degree... It'll be compelling as an event certainly but I think it's going to offer little in the way of fireworks... I figure they trouble each other with speed and Pac troubles him with the southpaw stance and the right hook ... Mayweather's best offensive weapon is the same one that traditionally bothers Pacquaio ... I figure 8-4 type of decision with some arguing closer with varying degrees of objectivity and ultimately a fight that won't leave you with any vivid mental pictures My hope is for a toe to toe slugfest ending in a double KO
Floyd will fight his typical cautious fight and win most of the rounds that way. He'll walk Pacquiao into right hand counters, smother inside, move away, and ultimately do everything he can to avoid exchanges, and he'll certainly take no risks. Pacquiao must force exchanges. If he can't make Mayweather fight, then his superior hand speed won't be able to make the difference. My guess is that in SPOTS, Pac will be able to trouble Floyd and I wouldn't be shocked to see him stun him at some point, but I don't think he'll have enough of those moments to win the decision. I'm hoping I'm wrong, and that Manny absolutely beats the living hell out of him, and KO's him. But I don't see it.
Same dude, but I voted Mayweather by KO. I'll be betting on this but don't know where my money's going yet....prob PAC by decision if it's juicy enough.
It's for our first article in 2 years. I need to say "X% of Fightbeat expert boxing panel thinks..." then followed by the most nonsensical, off topic and offensive quotes about each guy.
"1% if fightbeat refuses to contemplate draw......" Tis saucy detail like that which will propel your article.
Pacquiao has declined more than Mayweather, so I pick Mayweather to win. I want Pacman to win though.
10 votes for May. 0 for Manny. "10 Point Must System Proves Advantageous to Floyd". "Not Many Going For Manny". "Floyd, and its Pretty Clear". "We got Hits, So Did Pac"- Team Fightbeat.
Basically how I see it. Undeniably huge, compelling event, but the fight will be disappointing. It'll look like an elite sparring session, with neither guy taking many risks, and the slow pace and style of the fight suiting Floyd, winning a close but clear decision.
It will Be a good action fight. mayweather jr will control the center of the ring and Pacquiao will press. As the fight goes on Pacquiao will take a beating
Pac is going to take a real beating I know I say things like this sometimes but this time I'm serious.. I really think within 6 months of the fight pac will move to Poland and sell pullovers
exactly how I see it as well. I think Pac troubles Floyd early with his speed, then Floyd takes control 3 or so rounds in & beats Pac down as he keeps pressing
This is one of the most one sided fightbeat polls, pretty ironic considering it's the biggest fight in boxing, being called for over 5 years ::
And I don't think anyone is taking a beating in this fight. Floyd close but clear, in a glorified sparring session.
We all hope the best versions of both fighters show up on the night but it's likely this won't be the case. One guy will dominate, likely to be Floyd.
Mayweather can barely "take over" against Guerrero. But yeah. He'll take over the fight with Pacquiao. I don't even bemoan everyone picking pbf. But the expectation he will "take over?" Sounds like Floyd sr.'s prediction..
