Question here seems to be, either the Filipino government is double dipping, or the U.S. government is claiming more then their fair share. I imagine the taxation laws get jumbled when somebody is making the bulk of their money outside of their home country.

Pac is Taxed Anywhere from 45-51% of his U.S. Earnings OFF THE TOP...Managers Typically Take 33 1/3% of the Purse...Trainers Typically Take 10%, but Roach is Making MORE than that...No Telling what Koncz is Making or What Ariza Made...Not Sure what Arum's OFFICIAL Title is in Team Pacquiao, but REED Would Shocked if Arum WASN'T Making More Off Pac, PER Fight, than Roach OR Koncz...

Pac said he is paying taxes in the US and since he is there is a law that states he can't be taxed in his home Country. That being said he is either paying in the US or he is trying to get over on the Philippines, but if Arum said he is paying his taxes prior to paying Pac then Arum is at fault. Either way Arum is to blame I don't care what people say your manager should manage paying your damn taxes. WTF is going on that we have so many boxers broke for this reason or spending their life paying taxes back.

 

Boxers always get fucked because these huge purses are reported in the press all the time. Tax agencies who know nothing about how the money is actually distributed go after the big name based on the reported numbers that promoters love to throw around in the press.

Joe Louis was a pauper nearly his entire life. Beau Jack and Bob Montgomery were taxed into indigence for purses that were donated entirely to the U.S. War Bond fund. Tyson is broke, Holyfield is broke, looks like Roy Jones is nearly broke.

The only guys who seem like they save their money are the paranoids like Marciano, Larry Holmes, Bernard Hopkins and some of the lucky or smarter guys who made money outside of their careers like James Braddock, George Foreman and Max Schmeling.

 

Is not that Pacquiao is broke. It is the government from the Philippines that froze his money in the banks claiming he made more money than reported and they are taking over $50 million (USA). Pacquiao claims it is a political persecution since his attorneys presented all the evidence but the local officials refuse to look at it. If they win and keep his money, I bet Pacquiao will move permanently to the USA and will say 'fuck you' to his beloved country.

 

All these scoundrels have been in pacquiao's pockets since he beat ledwaba. no shock that the tax collectors want their share. Its really a shame because if there is one guy who deserves to live luxuriously and not have to worry about this shit it's pacquiao
