At 130, I like Chavez. 135, its hard to say. Chavez peaked at 135 but Pac did look really good against David Diaz. Still, I go Chavez. At 140, I definitely favor Pac. Junior welter appeared to be potentially Pac's best weight, and Chavez was never as good at 140 as he was at 135.
I think Chavez would have a clear-cut plan for Pacquiao. He'd likely fight how he did vs Ramirez for the most part, where he lets Pac come to him and shuts him down with the tripwire hook and the cross-counter, but Pac and Ramirez don't have much in common. I think after finding that doesn't work out how he'd want it too, Chavez would try and take away Pac's space like he did vs Rosario. Whether or not this would work is a little up for debate, but I tend to think that Chavez would manage to do it, but probably wouldn't wanna risk taking that much punishment on the way in every time they were broken up. I think he'd bait Pac into taking the lead, waltz around him and then get going that suffocating inside work. I think the plan would work, but I don't know if Chavez was good enough at any other weight aside from 135. It's a bit of a cliché to pretend he was shot at 140 and too green/weight drained to matter at 130, but there is a pretty clear difference IMO. Pac in the Hatton, Diaz and Morales III fights was at his absolute peak IMO. So I pick Pac at 130 and 140, but Chavez at 135.
