It hard to bet against Hopkins when he's fighting a young up-and-comer on a big win streak.

    Hopkins by Decision.

No way Hopkins wins this fight, Pascal is not a limited slugger, he's the type of guys that have killed old Hopkins in these last few years.

What type would that be? Hopkins has lost some fights, but has never been "killed" or even dominated by anyone... ever.

Pascal is too crude for Hopkins. It won't be a Pavlik type performance but Hopkins will be too crafty for him and win a competitive but comfortable decision.

If Hopkins is still as good as he was against Calzaghe, he will stink out another notable victory. However he is almost 46 now, so his level might have dropped dramatically

Agreed, it's an absurd thing to say.

    Regarding this fight, it's tricky.

You can never count Hopkins out, and like Ugo said, if he's even as good as he was against Joe, I expect him to win.

But fucking hell, he's 45/46 now. He could get in the ring and just be utterly shot.

Did you guys know if Hopkins wins tomorrow night he'll be the oldest fighter ever to win a legit world championship? Not hold, but win. He's fucking older than George Foreman was when he stopped Moorer. It's really amazing.

Hops looked shit in his last two fights, but he was expected to win those. Hopkins thrives off these types of fights where he is written off.

Yup. Cliff and I even wrote about it  ... but yeah, pretty amazing.

That said, rooting for and picking Pascal to win by some type of decision that Hopkins will undoubtedly dispute.

I imagine he was talking about fighters with some speed. No one has killed Bernard Hopkins, but quicker fighters like Taylor and Calzaghe have had more success than slower guys like Pavlik and Tarver.

And yeah, Bernard looked pretty bad against Roy earlier this year.

 My bad. I was flying accross the country last week and picked up my first issue of The Ring in about a year or so... there was a story on the fight. I don't know why, but it surprised me. Time flies I guess.

And I'm with you... I hope Pascal takes it, but I don't have a very good feeling about it.

How many times should we expect him rolling on the canvas from low blows?

Someone tell Pascal to keep his punches up.

Ring magazine is still sold in some airports?

Or did you buy it in advance?

I'd be surprised if Hopkins was able to get away with any of that crap in Quebec.

Bought it after I cleared security. The guard searched me, touched my penis, so it felt fitting after that experience that I buy a magazine with a thoughful looking Wlad Klitschko on the cover.

Why is it that nobody has questioned Bernards chemical input?

There he was, all these years ago, losing back to back fights to currently retired bums lik Taylor, and now here he is, 46, and fighting for the 175lb title?

I haven't seen a copy of The Ring anywhere in quite a while. Chances are, neither has very many other people since they're offering subscriptions at half off of their usual discounted rate (or at least were earlier this month)

I still see them around at Chapters (a book store, not sure if it exists in the US)

Collins' editors note on the first page says starting next month they're offereing the magazine online now too. Give it a year, and the printed version probably won't exist anymore.

Yeah, I went out on a half-heareted search for an almanac earlier this year and couldn't find one.

That's about the only thing from them I'd actually contemplate putting money towards.

Anyways, I went to a couple places that I thought had sold it in year's past and didn't see...not even sure those places still sell the magazine, to be honest.

Not even sure why I was that interested in the almanac, because the last one I bought I never even cracked it open.

Seriously, barring Hopkins clocking him on the chin, Pascal outworks Hopkins badly.

The last time Hopkins looked good was against limited ass Pavlik.

Pascal's another rubbish, unschooled athlete fighter. I'd sooner see Hopkins pull another one out for the craft of boxing, even if he has to supplement that work with horrendous mauling to slow the pace between exchanges down.
