I was looking at the crowd for the Mayweather-Hatton fight and had much admiration for the British fans and the way they supported their fighter. However I was disappointed in the lack of patriotism from many of the American observers. De La Hoya was rooting for Hatton. Brad and Angelina were rooting for Hatton. Jude Law was rooting for Hatton. However, it was nice to see a few patriotic Americans rooting for their fighter. Of particular note was Denzel Washington and Wesley Snipes. Also, some of the American rappers in attendance. The Basketball players. The RnB singers. You can see the excitement on their faces whenever The American administered a beating on the Brit. Ah....that's true patriotism. That's the true american spirit!
Nah...look at the 10th round when the fight is done...Denzel has his hands in the air celebrating. I admire patriotism.
Nah, Denzel, Snipes and all the other blacks in attendance were supporting their fellow black man. Had nothing to do with patriotism. The only black man in that whole crowd who cheered for Hatton was Bernard and only for the reason that Hatton winning could've been huge for G promotions if a DLH/Hatton fight had come about as rumoured for next year.
