Paul Williams v. Kermit Cintron DISCUSSION THREAD **SPOILERS STAY IN HERE**

Let's keep all the talk of the Williams/Cintron fight (and the undercards) in here, so as not to spoil the results for those who perhaps are going to have to wait til later to see it!

Figured I'd make a thread so everyone can talk about the fight as it's happening, and if anyone's wanting to do a round by round we can do it in here.

    HBO

Should be a good fight. I'm interested to see how Paul handles Froggy's power.

Eagle Eye is going off on HBO and boxing is about to start! lol

I believe they're showing a replay of Mosley/Mayweather first before they get into the undercards.

They arent showing any undercards. Just the May-Mosley replay, then goin straight to Williams-Cintron.

ah okay. I kinda wish they'd start showing more of the undercards for these fights. I imagine these young fighters are ecstatic that they're gonna be on the undercard of an HBO fight, and then find out it's not even televised. :bangh:

They are already showing Mendez/Honorio on Sky and the place looks pretty empty.

I saw Kermit train here the week before last at Savannah's, and I must say he looked as sharp as he ever has.

He was really snapping that shoulder into those hooks underneath, and Shields had him concentrating on the body almost exclusively.

We'll see if that is his plan and he sticks to it as we all know he has a tendency to lose focus at times and just swing for the fences.

damn, this is a tough way for the fight to end, and I pray Kermit is alright....

They're carrying Kermit out on a stretcher tonight. :-(

Pretty boring until Round 4 when while going toe to toe near the side of the ring, Paul Williams tripped and went down, and Kermit went through the ropes and out of the ring, landing hard on the scorer's table, his back slamming into a monitor, and then onto the floor.

    He's still laying there now.

Ref says they will go to the cards.

Three rounds are in the book, so now the fight goes the cards...looks like Williams is getting the decision then.

Kermit hit his neck and back on a monitor, and wanted to go on but the doctor won't let him.

    Williams by split decision.

1 judge had all four rounds to Cintron and 1 judge had it all four rounds Williams. Wow.

You really shouldn't speak on things you know NOTHING about.

They've said REPEATEDLY that Kermit wanted to fight on, and the doctors would not let him.

Try not to be a complete asshole

Right, I guess the paralysis will be delayed right? Tard.

Williams had a bad gameplan though, he shouldve went to the body, if a collosal one foot fall could incapacitate him, a punch wouldve killed him.

Well that explains it I suppose. lol.

I hear these people spouting ignorance like saying he faked it and whatnot, I don't see how anyone who watched that can say he faked it.

Unless they're just bitter anti-Cintron boxing fans.

Dude. It didn't look THAT bad where they had to stabilize and stretcher him out.

If Cintron REALLY wanted to continue after he half-ass superman'd out of the ring he could have at least given an effort to rise instead of letting the doc hold him down. IMO he had no intention of continuing. I am not saying I blame him (although I have fallen worse drunk at least 100x), but to claim he was insistent on continuing is not true.

That's pretty much the stat quo when it comes to head and neck injuries. Any doctor worth a damn will not allow the person to move, and they will put the neck brace and bring out the stretcher.

Because with the neck and head injuries, you don't know how bad it might be. He landed on a monitor ontop of a table...that could be potentially bad.

Sure, and risk permanent injury, just to satisfy some assholes out in the crowd and watching at home? Sure, that sounds perfectly logical.

You don't fuck around with head and neck injuries, man. You just don't do it.

So was it a shoulder injury? Was it a back injury? Was it a head injury? It looks like Cintron was complaining about all of them. They made out out like he fell into the pit in Mortal Kombat 1.
