This fight should happen at some point in the future, so it makes sense that we at least try to cover it.

    How's it play out?

Cotto is more adept at parrying and blocking than margarito, he is a lot more accurate at picking his shots, goes to the body more effectively, and is equally aggressive...I will give Williams the benefit of the doubt, I think he's pretty sturdy, he loses a decision

Much as I'd like to favor The Punisher, I think Cotto would break him down.

I think Williams decisions him close but clear. Cotto would come on strong late similar to Margarito but I think he has a hard time getting off most of the rounds and falls too far behind for his late rounds rally to matter.

    Williams via close UD.

Cosign. Williams stays on his bike like he did against Margs, never sitting down on his punches and tying up when he gets in trouble. Keeps the shorter Cotto on the end of his punches and boxes to a clear UD.

    Very possible scenerio.

Still, it's hard figuring Williams into MMs at this point IMO. He certainly looks like a heck of a fighter, but I want to see more fights against good quality opponents (particularly punchers and pressure fighters) before I can accurately gauge his ability.

I've changed my mind in the last 12 years.

I think Tall Paul would have beaten Cotto clearly.

Cotto is the better/greater fighter but this is a stylistic nightmare for him. I think Williams wins a close but clear decision.

Haha that's true, but for me it's that I don't think Cotto would be willing to punch WITH Williams. He'll be too patient and lose too many rounds.

This would be a great fight, but I think Paul's relentlessness is way too much Cotto in the late rounds.
