Who woulda won this slugfest? Two tall, rangy power punching middleweights with solid chins.

Too early to tell how solid Pavlik's chin actually is. He took huge shots against Miranda who is a puncher but not in McClellan's calibre, He seems to have a good chin, big punch, some stamina and fair technique, but yet, we don't know enough.

Just telling you this so that you won't have to turn your coat and start Pavlik-Hagler, Pavlik-Jones, Pavlik-Monzon and Pavlik-George Foreman threads after his next bout if he loses it:tease:

This would be a great fight. McClellan is carried into the ring and put on a wheelchair. The bell rings, and McClellan is pushed to the center by his cornermen. His facial expression doesn't change as Pavlik comes in behind the jab and opens up with power shots. At the end of the round, Pavlik scores a huge uppercut that sends McClellan falling backwards off of his wheelchair. The referee counts to ten. McClellan's facial expression still hasn't changed.

Gerald Mccellan is a mystery to me. His power seemed undisputable but he couldn't knock out Nigel Benn who was never good at taking shots? He also lost to Dan Ward and Dennis Milton aka the Magician. I saw him fight one other time against Julian Jackson and he was out cold by a glancing shot. Gerald lost to him by decision. At 160, I don't think the GMan ever went past 8 rounds, but look it up. I am not sure. My guess is a guy like Trinidad or any attacking fighter would get laid up by the GMan, but Nigel Benn was just that and he nearly killed Mccellan. It would be a great fight. To me Pavlik has triples power, not Homerun, but he keeps the power for longer than most punchers and he wears people down. Miranda looked like the elephant man after 6+ rounds..

By rights, G-man should have won the Benn fight by KO 1. But anyway, G-man seriously hurt Benn everytime he hit him, Nigel was just a man possesed that night and REFUSED to let G-man beat him on his home turf. Had the fight taken place in the U.S. I think G-man woulda killed him cause Nigel would not have been as motivated.

Bullshit. He separated the fighters - as he should have - but McClellan kept trying to push his way in. Any time a fighter does that, it's the referee's job to make sure they don't come together until the referee restarts the fight.

I never got that argument. Benn's biggest fights were with Eubank and Watson and he was basically 1-2 in those fights and both losses were by kayo. I thought Benn won the rematch with Eubank. Why wouldn't he be possessed for more important fights. I really don't know what to think. Gerald flat out stopped guys that never usually got stopped that early. He hurt Benn but much less punchers stopped Benn or made him quit like he did from a Watson jab.

The Benn fight was his first at 168, if that means anything.

And it doesn't. McClellan was twice the size of Benn. Like in every other one of his fights.
