Yeah I'd tend to agree. Just think it'd be an exciting fight. The original Micheal Vick would be too quick, and explosive early for Pavlik, and WOULD finish him off once he gets him in trouble(unless theres a corrupt French ref involved).

Forget Pavlik.....McClellan might actually do Hopkins at 160, IMO.

No he wouldnt. Hopkins would survive some scary moments early from Gerald, then take him to school.

    Yup.

And I think Gerald has trouble with Pav.

On this forum it feels like McClellan gets a tad overrated.

McClellan gets REALLY overrated. It's almost as if people forget Benn beat the living shit out of him.

Gerald IS overrated. But having said that, he hit WAY harder than Taylor, and was a better finisher. If he had Pavlik in trouble in the 2nd round like that, its doubtful Kelly survives.

Benn landed a good headbutt, but McClellan was winning the match.

McClellan at his best BARELY outlasts Pavlik in a slugfest, but just long enough to finish him off before the round reach double digits, in a bonafide Fight of the Year candidate.

Post-Kronk McClellan gets lit up. He had a tough enough chin to where it might go the distance. He either loses a lopsided decision, or is stopped on his feet late in the fight.

Jake, I hate to ask you this, but have you ever seen McClellan fight? And if so, why would you pick him to outlast ANYONE?

Because I can see Pavlik punching himself out more so than the opposite. McClellan wasn't always a one-round fighter, he just became that way after he left Steward and there wasn't anyone left in his corner smart enough to tell him any different.

Actually, didn't he and Steward spilt because of disputes over his style and unwillingness to quit trying to kill with every shot?

This fight would go either way but I'll lean towards Pavlik because he has better technique.
