    For June 14.

With Andy Lee fighting Marco Antonio Rubio and Juan Manuel Lopez fighting Ponce De Leon.

    Thats a stellar triple header.

"Stellar" Isn't QUITE the Word REED would Use, but it's Pretty Damn GOOD...

Andy Lee & JuanMa will DEFINITELY B Tested, PARTICULARLY their CHINS...REED Actually Thinks a Ponce DeLeon Bout MIGHT B a Wee Bit EARLY for JuanMa (Similar to How Rey Bautista Fought Ponce PREMATURELY) ....

REED Knows NATHAN about Lockett, but Supposedly he's a PUNCHER, so his Fight w/Pavlik should B FUN while it Lasts...

Gary Lockett is a pretty useful domestic UK MW with better than average punching power and not a whole lot else. He's also a pretty a pretty confident, 'walk forward and fight' type of guywho will come to fight and trade, no doubt.

He's also the WBO No1 Contender, I think...

Having seen him fight a few times, I'm fairly sure that Pavlik will blast him out in six after Lockett has one or two good moments early on whilst Kelly is trying to find his range. It'll be quite exciting though, and Kelly should look pretty good whilst this lasts.

That's a decent card at best, and only because it's a tripleheader.

Lopez will get KOed. He's not nearly slick enough to last 12, IMO.

Yeah I'm not surprised he seems OK in real life. I get good vibes from him, he seems likeable.

Ponce has always looked fairly big to me for a 122 pounder actually, quite thick.

HOw small did he look compared to other boxers you've met?

You really dislike JuanMa, don't you?

I know you think he's overrated....question though - do you think he can legitimately hurt Ponce De Leon?

    That may be his ticket...

    Peace.

lopez got roughed up by hugo dianzo in his last fight and looked terrible before dianzo was stopped on cuts. he wont have the power to hurt de leon imo and will look like a bitch running for 12 rounds or getting KOed early.

Hmmmm....haven't seen that fight and will have to check.

Thanks....roughed up by Dianzo - the former 118 lber? Sheesh.

You know, he should have gotten the D over Paulie.

    I'll check out that fight.

    Peace.

that was when? haha. dianzo hasnt had a meaningful win since.

lopez pretty much won all the rounds, but looked sloppy and unwilling throughout. dianzo's side of the head was bleeding profusely, but i'm not even sure if it was caused by a punch.

but w/ that said, dianzo is one of the toughest rugged guys in the lower weight divisions.

I was about to say that...Candelita is a tough, rugged out for anyone at 118 or 122, even today.

I know that was ages ago, lol....but still! :warning:

It's not what I think. I've seen the guy more than enough times and he isn't anything special at all. Bautista was a MUCH better talent than this kid. Lopez appears to have a better chin though, so I expect him to last much longer.

And no idea if he can hurt Ponce. He'll need to though.

    My point exactly.

I think Lopez has gotten better but to your point, he's not "special" - just a good, solid fighter.

This fight will definitely help us gauge JuanMa's intangibles, no doubt.

Have you seen Alex "Pollo" De Jesus from Puerto Rico - the 'other' prospect that doesn't get exposure but has slowly been coming up the ranks at 135/140?

One of those slicker, uncomfortable southpaws. Not a 'waterwalker' either, but I think he has more folds & wrinkles to his game than Lopez...he just beat Morua and Quinonez.

    Peace.

When has Lopez gotten better? I remember seeing him last year against Hugo fucking Dianzo and Lopez was absolutely disgusting. Horrible. He had no idea what to do with Dianzo at all and Hugo is older than dirt. The stoppage in the fight was suspect as hell and came at a time when NOTHING was happening.

Seen DeJesus twice. Hard to gauge what he was, because he was in soft when I saw him. Moura is a decent test though. Don't think much of Quinonez.

REED's Seen Ponce Fight in Person a Couple Times, but Got to MEET him while he was Hanging in Mike Anchondo's Entourage...Anchondo was about to Face Juan Pablo Chacon for a Jr. Lightweight Title...

REED Took Pics of Anchondo @ the Weigh-In & as REED was Walking Out, he Noticed Ponce Standing Anonymously by a Doorway...Ponce was Still EARLY N his Career & had Only Fought on Telefutura a Couple Times...

REED Looked @ him & Ponce Looked Back Sorta PUZZLED as to Why a Much Larger Brother was Staring @ him:lol: ...REED Said "Ponce?" & he Smiled, Knodded his Head & Replied "Aye!"...REED & Ponce Shook Hands, REED VERY GENERICALLY Complimented him, Ponce Responded N Broken English, Extended his Hand Again & that was It...REED Might've even Given Ponce the Handshake-Hug that Brothers R Known For:lol: ....Can't Recall..

Thinking Back, Ponce HAD to B No Taller than 5'4 or 5'5...Definitely SHORTER than REED's 16 Year Old daughter, who's 5'6 or 5'7...REED's Never Taken Notice of what Ponce's ACTUAL Listed Height is...& Ponce was VERY THIN, yet he DIDN'T Have an Upcoming Fight @ the Time...He COULDN'T have Weighed even 130lbs FULLY Dressed...

REED has Stood just as Close to Oscar Larios B 4 as Well(Immediately AFTER a Fight), who Also Campaigned @ 122...From what REED Remembers, Larios was NOTICEABLY BIGGER than Ponce...Ponce was NOTICEABLY SMALLER than Anchondo as Well & Anchondo is a SMALL Guy Himself...

Ponce was about the Size of a Typical Jr. High School Kid or a High School Freshman...VERY Small...

REED's Interaction w/Oscar Larios was More FORMAL than when he Met Ponce, but Larios was COOL...

He had just Walked Down the Steps, EXITING the Ring from a Fight & was the Subject of a Gangbang Style Interview...

Understandably, the Spanish Speaking Media Got 1st Dibs, so REED Patiently Waited...Soon, Larios Walked Over to REED to Answer any Fuuuuurther Questions & REED Said, "Habla English?"...REED Knows CERTAIN WORDS N Spanish but Can't CONVERSE N Spanish...

Larios Smiled, Gave that "Nah, Not Really" Look, Shook his Head & Said "No"...Then he Grabbed a Cat from his Entourage & Said Something to Him...The Guy Walked Over to REED, Said, "I Can Translate Anything U Wanna Ask Oscar" & the Interview Commenced...

Considering Dude had just Gotten OUT of the Ring & Been Interviewed for 5-10 Minutes, REED Thought it was VERY NICE of Larios to Do what he Could to Accomodate him...Larios COULD have just Brushed REED Off, Cause it's Not like REED was Gonna Make or Break him...

So yeah, your Perception of Larios was SPOT ON...

WTF - i think you're a lil exaggerating. He just couldn't stop Dianzo but didn't have real trouble with him besides that. I don't think he even lost a round or run in that fight let alone being roughed up.

If he moves well in case he can't hurt Ponce he will have success.

    His left hand, for starters.

Early on he was right-hook-happy and his straight left was very weak. He's now much more of a two-handed fighter.

I also think he jabs better; and has better movement/footwork.

Doesn't mean he'll transform into Mr. PxP, but there are improvements.

    Peace.
