Taylor by UD, and by a comfortable margin. Floyd struggles early and waits too long to get going, spending the entire second half playing catchup, but never quite getting there.
possibly... Taylor's fast hands and ultra busy style will be problematic for Floyd and Mayweather isn't a big puncher to break him down the way chavez did. "HOWEVER" We must not forget that Floyd Mayweather is far more elusive than Taylor, who got hit pretty often for a hast handed slick fighter. Mayweather's defense and accuracy negates Meldrick's edge in workrate and handspeed. So based on this, I see a close split decision going either way...
I think Mayweather beats him, close but clear. He's the better boxer and he's the smarter of the two. Floyd out points him I think.
It's hard to say ... Probably DLH at 154. Why ? If you are looking for me to pick DLH over Taylor at 154 and then you point out the PBF/DLH fight , don't bother because I was very unimpressed with PBF and honestly I didn't think he deserved to win. I also think a younger DLH would have stopped him in 8 rounds ...
Its so hard to choose, since Sly and CYC are on opposing sides. Jake is right, Mel has the tools to win a decision, and his workrate/style is all wrong for floyd. I think he wins in somewhat convincing fashion.
stop your lies. taylor's pro career rose to prominence in the late 80s, early 90s, which means he wasn't around during the fab 4 era. it's clear you've never seen him in action outside of clips from legendary nights. go to do your research on line and come back w/ your fake rebuttal on how many tapes you have.
Floyd gets easily marked up for a guy who never gets hit. So either, slower cats than Taylor are getting to him, or Floyd has the worst skin in the history of the sport. The 140 lb. version of Floyd, NOT THE mythical P4P version, got buzzed and tagged by Chop Chop Corley. Call it a styles issue or whatever - if Chop Chop can get to him, Taylor damn sure can as well. Meldrick's biggest issue was his fighting heart, not necessarily just getting caught. I don't see that being an issue against Floyd, who at 140 is stronger than people give credit for, but not enough to where he'll have any lasting effect on Taylor. Finally, your claim of Floyd's A and B offsetting Taylor's C and D is a simplistic one. Floyd's accuracy could conceivably be limited to 1 punch at a time. His defense, which you and many others overrate, would be his primary weapon, because Taylor holds nearly every other advantage, save for chin (which wouldn't be a factor here). Considering it's pre-Chavez, then Floyd would be the best fighter Meldrick had faced. But more importantly, Taylor would've been the best fighter Floyd had faced - and also in the heart of his prime.
