Pea - he is just an all around BETTER fighter ... IMO , Mayweather is very overrated .. The DLH that fought Pea would have stopped Mayweather in under 8 rounds ....
Is this why Pea handled a much younger , faster , more stamina , WAY more active DLH while PBF arguably lost to the older faded low punching DLH ?
Not trying to push any Oscar thing here but , he was the only guy that could be mention in this situation ... Anyway , honestly IMO Mayweather is a good fighter but , he just doesn't have what it takes to beat Pea .. Pea is just a better fighter ... I know some of you guys think very highly of PBF but , I just don't. Anyway , for the sake of argument , lets say PBF beat DLH , the comment I made still holds true ...
ugly fight especially at welterweight where both guys stopped punching in combinations as much. whitaker was a naturally stronger sturdier guy but not as versatile. Mayweather has not fared as well against southpaws and he wasn't anxious to face steve johnston.
:: What suddenly makes Mayweather able to handle southpaws? His great performance over the great Judah:eeeek: . Whitaker was the Master of southpaws matched against a fighter that made a career of avoiding them(for a good reason). Add this to the fact Whitaker probably was a better fighter and I don't even need to answer this.
And since when has Whitaker became capable of beating somebody who holds every physical advantage over him?
Pernell was a southpaw who was more elusive than Floyd, with an excellent southpaw jab, and enough handspeed to find Floyd. In my mind he had the right style to beat Floyd.
I like Whitaker in this one. Floyd would have no other choice but to open up and fight Pea. The difference between Floyd and Whitaker is that Whitaker can be offensive and defensive at the same time. Floyd goes into a shell then catches you coming in...Whitaker would outwork him and win a decision. It would be a chess match, but I like Whitaker by decision.
for what its worth, when its all said and done I think Mayweather may be considered better than whitaker... Stylistically though Floyd has had trouble with southpaws, and I think this is the wrong guy for him to fight Whitaker by SD
Floyd's got a lot to prove before we can say that. Whitaker beat better guys and he's considered one of the greatest lightweights ever. If Floyd stayed at 135, I think he'd be in that class but as it stands now, I wouldn't say that about him.
When its all said and done , I think PBF will mostly be forgoten about except for the hard core boxing fans ... Even then I think he will be remembered as a border line great ...
A snoozer of utmost proportions, *flip coin* Whitaker by boring decision *flip coin* Mayweather by boring decision.....Both these guys need an opponent to come after them in order to shine, these guys could seriously put sominex out of business if pitted against each other.
proposterous, how many guys got into their 11th year as a pro undefeated with titles in 5 divisions. With wins over DLH, corrales, castillo 2x, hernandez...etc. whatever dude it would take a complete hater and imbecile to say what u do about Floyd
