Power punching slugger vs Power jabbing boxer-puncher. How do you see this brutal match up go? Can Cuevas put just enough hurt on Quartey to stop him or does Quartey's great jab, better boxing skills, and overall toughness prevail over Pipino?
Quartey getting dropped hard and almost stopped by Lopez and Oscar doesn't give me much faith in him beating Cuevas. Pipino for some strange reason has never gotten much respect on this forum, but I think he would ice Quartey at some point.
I agree. At some point after a few rounds, after having success with his jab and right hand, I see Ike catching some monster shot from Pipino and not being able to survive the onslaught.
I gotta rock with Cuevas here. Especially the pre Hearns version. Punches too hard and at some point he will catch Ike with something he can’t recover from.
