"But, for various reasons, I've had long periods of inactivity throughout my career. Those times have been very frustrating, but on the plus side they've kept me fresh.

"I'm never out of the gym so I'm always in shape and always sharp, but obviously you sill need to get the rounds under your belt in the ring so that's why after this fight I want to stay busy."

:nono: Plain delusional is Wayne...on the upside, chances are he won't be fighting anyone worth a damn on these dublin cards...unless Peters intends to feed him to Dunne eventually, which is quite plausible

I've always liked McCullough in the ring and outside of it. Most fans should. But its things like this that really piss me off about fighters who just don't know when enough is enough. Its greed. Fighters with family's have bigger concerned than their own boredom.

Lump him with Evander as far as Im concerned.

Wayne is a great figher and Im looking forward to see him fight again.

Nobody can tell a guy when to retire, right or wrong they must come to that decision for themselves.

I don't agree with you at all. The sport isn't there for you to abuse for your own purposes. People need to be protected from themselves. Sure, he can earn...just do it outside the ring.

Ok, but who decides who needs protection.

Commissions, operating with medical advice and hearing evidence from the fighter and their family. I'm quite happy to have a ruling body have the final say on it as well.

The doctors allow Wayne to fight plus he has the support of his family, so why do people get annoyed when he wants to fight on.

Pop in a copy of his fights against larios 2, harrison and you might get a clue...unless the sight of Ali doing his parkinsonian shuffle or the likes of benitez or chacon not being able to find their way home puts a big smile on your face, you should support all attempts to monitor and restrict the ability to compete in a sport like a boxing when permannt harm is a likely outcome...

    ..and i do.

The Larios fight was bad. I never saw Harrison fight, but hes not the first fighter to take a beaten, maybe he should have gone down quiting like a lot guys do. Maybe that is his problem he doesnt know when to quit

The facts are on medical grounds he can fight he wants to fight. So I say good luck to him.

Peak Wayne was all about workrate, output and durability...and was a great fihgter but with slow hands and not the biggest bang...who is he going to beat 122+? Also can he still make the weight after inactivity?

126 may be his best option but against whom Juarez? John? Chi?

Dunne has too much for him - either way hes going to get hurt

He should stick to pocket pool and forget fighting.

    And Wayne KO's him.....:crafty:

Wayne is the Bantamweight version of Evander....great jaw, great career, and totally, utterly shot.

Evander won the big one. A couple of times. Wayne lost each and every single time and by considerable margin at best.

Evander had a better career. Happy?

    Wayne won a world title. He won an Olympic Silver Medal. He fought for 11 rounds against Zaragoza and dropped a close decision.He finished on his feet against Morales and Hamed. {Kevin Kelley anyone?}

    Pretty decent career.

'Great career' is what I had issue with.

"Decent Carr" was the better choice and I'm glad you realised that.

    I did realise that.

    Then I changed my mind.

    Wayne had a great career.

In fact, Evander better keep fighting.
