On the night he beat Tate, Nunn would be HELL for Hopkins. Not saying Tate was anwhere near as good as Hopkins, but then again guys like Keith Holmes, Robert Allen, and Echols were nowhere near as good as Nunn. I'm just waiting for somebody to say "Hopkins no question, Nunn was overrated" which might be true, but anybody thinking Nunn's style and handspeed wouldnt be a big problem for Hopkins are lying to themselves. I think it'd be a close fight.
close fight because of Nunn's quickness and reach, but Hopkins had the ability to make just about any fighter abandon his strengths and fight ugly... Hopkins is the Il Duce of ugly and I think he takes a close, maybe even controversial decision by landing the more telling punches (not to mention a handful of elbows, rabbit punches and kidney punches) down the stretch
I like Nunn here- all he has to do is stay at distance and ponce on Bernard all night. Bernard would be getting upset and asking the referee to deduct points for refusal to get head-butted.
