What a great year we’ve had in boxing. It seems as if almost every other weekend, we’ve been blessed with great fight after great fight. The stars have been on display, in high profile fights that seemed to have a little extra spice that the big fights of previous years have been missing. In this writer’s opinion, Mayweather v De La Hoya was an intriguing fight for the most part. While it lacked the definitive ending we look for (but rarely find) in our super fights, it was contested at a high skill level and featured moments of real drama. The battle of undefeated middleweight young guns, between the now ex-champion Jermain Taylor and new king, Kelly Pavlik was something of an instant classic. While this perhaps lacked the drawn out, back and forth tactical drama of some other big fights this year, it made up for it in sheer excitement in the form of power punching brutality; topped off with an unforgettable finish. http://www.fightbeat.com/article_detail.php?AT=526
Well-written  ..although I see Mosley hanging on and ekeing out or at least deserving the close decision, mostly based on his early rounds short burst and then hold
dsimon writes: Yeah not like that nut Tam Tam from Aussie land! :: Seriously nice article Tam. About sums it up. Also nice photos of both guys. One thing I like about Cotto is that he is apparently a stay at home dad.... so I can relate! People think that just because we take care of kids we can't throw down! ld: :nono: Well miguel can anyway!
Good stuff Tam, we pretty much see this fight the same way except I don't think Cotto will stop Mosley. Nice article!:bears:
Nicely done, Craig. Great breakdown, where they came from, why they're here and what they'll do. :bears:
Good article. I liked how you pointed out how fight fans are having difficulty predicting the outcome. I am one of those fans.I haven't seen too many people that are completely confident either way. It might be a long and bloody war, but it's also equally possible the fight gets stopped leading from one pin point shot. Hopefully it's the former.
No doubt it's a tough fight to pick and I really think that's the charm with this fight, that just about every other big fight this year hasn't had. Every type of outcome is conceivable in my opinion and it's not an easy task favouring one over the other. Still, I've liked Cotto via KO since the day this fight was announced and like I told a certain mullet headed, fence rider the other day; I've learned to trust my initial feelings over the years. Should be a great one. PS: Thanks for the comments. Donations can be made care of Poor Unfortunate Australian Boxig Writers Guild of Port Macquarie, via paypal. Thanks!
Cotta is the WBA welterweight champion. :nono: Very well done as usual Craig. I've throughly enjoyed every one of your pre-fight pieces this year.
Calzaghe won, get over it! Why don't you post my statement in your signature. Joppy lost cause of the ring and then Calzaghe was battered by Kessler
