Lennox is arguably one of the best HW's of all time, with a stunning right hand, great jab, a thinking's man approach to his bouts and can boast proudly to have beaten everyone he ever faced in the ring over a dominant period of ten years ruling the division, unifying and retiring at the top of the tree to leave the division pitifully weak historically. Herbie Hide...is a bum. Anyone fancy Herbie to force a shock here? Seriously...
Lets be clear.. Lewis was Champion for 3 years and then got knocked out. 3 years later he won a title again. He held it for 4 years and then got knocked out again.. If you want to stretch that into 10 years of dominating the division, then go ahead, but that's not exactly accurate.
if herbie had had a chin he would have been a bad man. but he didn't, so lennox stops him inside a round. tyson have stopped him faster than eittiene
Perhaps, but he didn't get a rematch with McCall, did he? Like hell he did. McCall fought bums like BRUNO to avoid another shot at Lennox. And then he lost. Meanwhile, other guys like Mike paid MILLIONS to make sure Lennox didn't fight him. Whilst Lennox was the mandatory for all and sundry, they fought amonst themselves for three years. Then he regained his title and beat all left standing. Then he got KO-ed. Sure. And he avenged it within 6 months. Violently avenged it in fact. Did you see Hasim demanding any rubber match? Like hell he did. In the meantime, Lennox continued to clean house. Lennox was THE HW of the 1990's-early 2000's. Period.
Exactly correct. Hide had speed and powe that wee comparable to anybody but if there was anything more fragile in the world than Hide's chin it was Hide's confidence. He was truly scared to face Vitali and Bowe and gave up both times. Against Lewis he'd be terrified and take a dive (if Lewis didn't land on him first) inside a round
Hide would have no chance in this fight. None. Zero. The size difference alone! The reach and height. But in addition to this Hide had no courage (as was already mentioned) no chin and although he had good power he didn't have Morrison power, Klitschko power, Bruno power...guys whose power Lewis had dealt with before. It could be a first round blowout if Lewis decided to go after him, but I think Lewis will simply jab him up for a couple rounds and then finish him off in the third.
I think you guys are confused. We're talking about a PRIME Herbie Hide. Not the guy who lost to: Riddick Bowe, Vitali Klitschko, Joseph Chingangu, Mindaugas Kulikhauskas, all well past his best. But the legend who butchered Conroy Nelson, Juan "babyface" Diaz, Tony Tucker, and Lee "P4P" Williams. That version of Hide, is unbeatable.
if we are talking about a PRIME Herbie Hide.. . depends on how he comes out.. if he comes out nervous and tentative he could be in trouble.. but considering Lemmon is like the least intimatation guy ever and has been KO'd by bums.. Herbie would be confident, he had good power and good speed, I say Herbie KO's him in one or two
