Would be an entertaining fight. Williams gets brawl happy which could play into Mayorga's favor, (and the fans) but he also fights with a lot of activity. More importantly he stays close to his opponents which is good against a swinger. If Mayorga had a better left hook, i think he could win it, but I think Williams is able to block or absorb the looping right hands. Williams UD.
Exactly what I was thinking. This fight could end up testing how well Williams could handle pressure from a real knockout puncher, and as of yet we're not sure about that (though so far, his chin looks to be pretty good).
yeah because that doesn't have anything to do with each other... If Mayo lands clean as much as Margarito did on Paul Williams he knocks him out. Sometimes you're really off base.
i think especially at 147 Mayorga was a harder puncher than Margarito. with 8 oz gloves, Mayorga's punches could really sting. you could tell. not that Margarito is any slouch. he punches hard too. but he hurts his opponents through the use of combinations - if he's unable to (or not allowed) to land his sometimes extravagent combinations, he has trouble hurting you. but Mayorga's got that one punch hurt on his shots at 147. and they say he has unusually large and gnarly knuckles which explains how and why he was able to do so much damage at 147.
